CDL Class B Driver & Manufacturing

We are looking for an experienced truck driver with a Class B drivers' license to serve our supply chain logistics department in a safe and timely manner. This is part-time, 1-2 days a week. Deliveries are in the tri-state area. No overnight driving, home every night. On the day's not driving, employee will be working in the manufacturing plant. Responsibilities - Driving Transport finished goods and raw materials to and from manufacturing plants, retail and distribution centers, and customers Inspect vehicles for mechanical items and safety issues and perform preventative maintenance Document and log work/rest periods and miles spent driving and retain fuel/toll receipts Comply with truck driving rules and regulations (size, weight, route designations, parking, and break periods) as well as with company policies and procedures Collect and verify delivery instructions Report defects, accidents, or violations General Laborer - Manufacturing Able to lift 20-30lbs Able to stand for the entire 8-hour shift Willingness to learn to operate wood working equipment (cutting machines and splicers) Have basic math skills and ability to read a tape measure Ability to read and comprehend paperwork Ability to multi-task, plan, and prioritize daily workload Strong attention to detail, a keen eye for defects/imperfections Need to be self-motivated, have the willingness to ask questions, and work as a team player Knowledge of the wood industry is a plus Skills Proven work experience as a truck driver Hands-on experience with electronic equipment and software (GPS, AVL units, CB, etc) Ability to drive long hours and travel regularly Extensive knowledge of applicable truck driving rules and regulations No recent moving or driving violations Adaptability and foresight to handle unexpected situations (traffic, weather conditions, etc) Valid truck driving license We are a drug-free workplace. A drug test is performed prior to hiring and subject to random testing.
