Research Development Laboratory Technician

Sensory Lab ContractorThe Sensory Lab Contractor will be responsible for training sensory panelists, leading sensory panels, supporting sensory testing activities and assisting with the maintenance of the R&D sensory lab.Job Responsibilities· Support daily operations of R&D sensory lab· Assist with maintenance of sensory lab (monitoring inventories of supplies, maintaining lab equipment, keeping lab clean and organized)· Regularly train Sensory Panelists and execute sensory panels· Assist sensory scientists with the set-up and execution of sensory tests (discrimination testing, attribute descriptive panels, shelf life testing, packaging usability testing) including but not limited to:· Upkeep of sensory lab panel schedule· Panel scheduling· Panel training· Lead panel evaluations· Product labeling· Product storage· Preparation of panel samples/reference solutions/materials· Labeling cups· Pouring samples· Serving samples· Operation of laptops and associated data gathering software· Operation of coffee brewers· Taking care of incoming/outgoing sensory product shipmentsCandidate Qualifications· Bachelor’s degree in Food Science, Sensory Science, or a related discipline· Experience training and leading sensory panels and understanding of sensory methods· Proficient with Microsoft software (Word, Excel)· Able to lift heavy boxes
