Discretionary annual bonus based on performance.Location: Washington, DC Metro Area. Some national travel may be required with advance notice (up to 20%).Key ResponsibilitiesService Technician (45%)Preventative Maintenance & Ongoing SupportPerform Preventative Maintenance Inspections (PMIs) to help maintain stable, client-based systemsServe as point of contact for all pre- and post-integration service and supportSetup and troubleshoot various video codecs and video teleconferencing systems (e.g., Poly, Cisco)Provide field service support of networked devices (Routers, IP Protocols, etc.)Communicate with internal VersaTech team and manufacturers/OEMs to work through system faultsLoad and test control system code and DSP programmingTroubleshoot leveraging computer, networking, and communication skillsClient Engagement & TrainingProvide end-user client training as neededTrain and mentor junior and new team membersCommunicate regularly and effectively with customers, teammates, and internal resourcesInstall Support (35%)Support AV installations including field installation of AV hardware and systems as designedPerform cable installation, cable termination, and device installationPerform site surveys, inventory, and create as-built documentation for installed systemsInterpret AV CAD drawings and update with Red LinesRead and understand cabling pull schedules, floor plans, ceiling plans, riser diagrams, and line diagramsWork with AV Engineers analyzing blueprints and AV input/output (IO)Configure standard system components to client requirementsTravel to various job sites as requiredIn-House Rack Fabrication & Quality Assurance (10%)Assist with in-house rack fabrication, wiring, and assemblyPerform Quality Assurance testing on fabricated systems and generate supporting documentationRead and interpret electronic schematics and architectural blueprintsUpdate inventory documentation and support VersaTech delivery logistics as neededDocumentation, Training & Industry Engagement (10%)DocumentationMaintain accurate and up-to-date as-built documentation, service reports, and project recordsComplete service tickets, maintenance logs, and quality assurance reports in a timely mannerContribute to the development and maintenance of standard operating procedures (SOPs) and knowledge base articlesTraining & Professional DevelopmentParticipate in ongoing technical training to maintain and advance AV industry certifications (e.g., CTS)Support onboarding and skills development of junior technicians and new team membersAttend internal training sessions, lunch-and-learns, and knowledge-sharing activitiesIndustry EngagementStay current with emerging AV technologies, products, and industry best practicesEngage with manufacturer and OEM partner resources, webinars, and certification programsRepresent VersaTech professionally at client sites and industry events as appropriateRequired Qualifications4+ years of experience installing and supporting large-scale audio-visual systemsExperience working with digital video/audio transmission and protocolsExperience with AV systems such as Poly, Cisco, Crestron, or ExtronExperience with signal flow, audio-visual signal types, connector types, and terminationsExperience working with AV Engineers, analyzing blueprints and AV IOExperience loading and testing control system code and DSP programmingAbility to configure standard system components to client requirementsAbility to work independently for AV testing and troubleshootingAbility to interpret AV CAD drawings and update with Red LinesAbility to troubleshoot leveraging computer, networking, and communication skillsAbility to read and understand cabling pull schedules, floor plans, ceiling plans, riser diagrams, and line diagramsExcellent verbal and written communication skills for client engagement and customer serviceAbility to obtain and maintain a Public Trust clearanceActive driver’s license and good driving recordAbility to travel locally to DMV area client locations and corporate officePreferred QualificationsExperience working with a government client or as a government contractorCTS CertifiedSecret Security ClearanceEducationBachelor’s Degree in a Technical Field, or 4 years of relevant experience in lieu of a degreePhysical RequirementsMay be required to lift up to 75 poundsMay be required to stand, walk, push, pull, squat, bend, and reach during shiftEmployees may use carts, dollies, hand trucks, and other gear to move items aroundMust hold an active driver’s license and maintain a good driving recordFind out who we are: https://www.versatechinc.com/VersaTech offers an excellent benefits package that includes 401k employer-matching retirement contributions, generous paid time off (3 weeks PTO plus 11 holidays), and ample growth opportunities.
