Lead Electrical Engineer Tool Install
Overview
In this role you will lead and contribute to tool install electrical design for projects spanning power, grounding, EMI, telecom, controls, and cable management. You will mentor teams, coordinate with regional experts, and develop design documents from concept to construction while ensuring quality and schedule. You’ll act as a technical consultant on-site and support project managers with fee development, change orders, and interdisciplinary coordination. This position offers impact through standardizing tools and processes to improve project repeatability and lean execution across ATF segments.
ResponsibilitiesLead or participate in a design team to create and document electrical system designs per scope and standardsDevelop tool install designs from concept through construction documentsEnsure quality control for concepts, basis of design, schematics, equipment plans, details, specs, cost, and schedulePrepare electrical calculations (breaker sizing, feeder sizing, SCCR)Monitor team progress and coordinate with project leads and regional system expertsContribute to knowledge center through lessons learned and continuous improvement activitiesSupport on-site project execution and act as technical consultantCoordinate with other disciplines and design offices to ensure deliverables meet inputsDevelop manpower and labor cost estimates and monitor them against schedule and budgetMentor and train junior staff and support lean project executionLead development of standard tools (drawings, specs, checklists, calculators) for project repeatabilityProvide input to studies, design procedures, and high-quality cost-effective workAssist Project Design Manager and Construction Manager with fee development, change orders, QA, scheduling, and reportsOther duties as assigned
Key requirements8+ years of experience in electrical engineering for projectsProfessional Engineer (PE) License requiredExperience leading teams and small to medium projectsDeep knowledge of core electrical systems and industry codes/standardsStrong coordination and communication skills with cross-functional teamsteam leadershipmentoring and trainingstrong communication (verbal and written)detailed understanding of Electrical Systems in ATF projectscodes and standards applicable to electrical designLean execution principles in project design
