Our teams also participate in cutting-edge research, including nitrous oxide administration by BLS providers - and much more.Position SummaryThe Paramedic provides advanced life support care in the prehospital setting in accordance with Pennsylvania Department of Health regulations, regional protocols, and Ambulance and Chair policies. Paramedics serve as clinical leaders on scene, delivering high-acuity patient care, coordinating resources, and supporting team members to ensure safe, effective, and patient-centered outcomes.Compensation & BenefitsNew uniforms provided (coat, shirts, pants)Annual fleet upgrades with new ambulances every yearPower stretchers and power load systemsService resources and protocols including:Blood Protocol participationZoll Z Vent ® portable ventilatorsSapphire IV pumpsLUCAS devicesiPads for on-the-go chartingVideo laryngoscopes (early 2026)Opportunities to participate in research initiatives (PAIN Study Program, Nitrous use by BLS providers)Key ResponsibilitiesRespond to 911 and non-emergency calls in a safe, timely, and professional mannerPerform advanced patient assessments, clinical decision-making, and treatment planningProvide ALS interventions within PA scope of practice, including advanced airway management, cardiac monitoring, medication administration, and resuscitationUtilize advanced equipment such as mechanic ventilators, IV pumps, LUCAS devices, and blood products per protocolServe as the lead clinician on scene, coordinator care with EMTs, AEMTs, dispatch, medical command, hospitals, and partner agenciesProvide mentorship, clinical guidance, and support to EMT-Basics and AEMTsAccurately complete electronic patient care reports (ePCR)Ensure ambulance, equipment, and medication readinessParticipate in quality improvement, training, protocol development, and research initiativesUphold patient confidentiality, professionalism, and organizational valuesQualificationsHigh School Diploma or equivalent requiredCurrent Pennsylvania Paramedic certificationValid Pennsylvania driver's license with acceptable driving recordCurrent BLS, ACLS, PALS, and PHTLS/ITLS cardEmergency Vehicle Operator (EMSVO) certificateAbility to meet physical demands of the position, including lifting and moving patientsStrong communication, teamwork, and customer service skillsAbility to work independently and remain calm in high-stress situationsClearances must be dated within 90 days:Act 31 Child Abuse Reporting with renewalAct 33 with renewalAct 34Act 73 FBI Clearance with renewalPreferred QualificationsPrior EMS experienceFamiliarity with electronic patient care reporting (ePCR) systemsInterest in mentorship, education, or service development initiatives
