This role focuses on identifying student needs, delivering evidence-based math interventions, and collaborating with teachers to strengthen overall mathematics outcomes. The Math Interventionist uses data to assess needs, monitoring progress, and adjust instruction to accelerate student growth.Essential FunctionsGuide and support the implementation of high-quality instruction with a focus on mathematics across all content areasEnsure daily instruction reflects clear learning targets, aligned success criteria, appropriate DOK levels, and meaningful student engagement in mathematical thinking and problem-solvingModel research-based mathematics instructional strategiesCollaborate with teachers and staff to support the mathematics component of the schoolwide MTSS framework, ensuring alignment between Tier 1 instruction and Tier 2/3 interventionsSupport teachers in identifying students for intervention using multiple data sources (MAP, GMAS, formative assessments) in mathematicsEnsure interventions are skill-based, data-driven, and aligned to identified student needsMonitor intervention effectiveness and support instructional adjustmentsSupport ongoing data analysis cycles aligned to schoolwide mathematics goals and growth for all studentsSupport teachers in analyzing MAP, GMAS, and classroom math data to inform instruction and interventionGuide teachers in facilitating student goal setting and data conferences to increase student ownershipTrack and communicate progress toward mathematics targets and school improvement goalsEnsure data is used to drive instructional decisions at all levelsCollaborate with Instructional Coach to facilitate professional learning opportunities focused on mathematics teaching and learningSupport new and developing teachers in strengthening instructional practicesFacilitate and support PLC conversations that focus on student outcomes in instructional strategies, and continuous improvementParticipate in MTSS meetings to support mathematics instructional decision-makingPromote a culture of care, accountability, and continuous improvement in mathematics learning environmentsAdditional DutiesPerforms other related tasks as assigned by the principal and other central office administrators as designated by the Superintendent.Note: The above description is illustrative of tasks and responsibilities. It is not meant to be all inclusive of every task or responsibility.Certification/License:Minimum Qualifications: Applicants must be hold a valid Georgia teaching certificate (Math or related field preferred)Strong background in math instruction, numeracy development and intervention practicesExperience working with small groups of students with diverse learning needsExperience with data analysis and progress monitoring (MAP, GMAS preferred)Knowledge of MTSS framework and implementationExperienceSuccessful prior teaching experience for the appropriate grade level and/or subject is a plus.PERSONAL QUALITIESAppearance, grooming, personality which establishes a desirable example for students.
