Node.js Developer

Purpose of the Job: We are looking for a Software Engineer with experience developing great user experiences using modern technologies. Our team is in the process of moving to a software stack leveraging Node.js, TypeScript and Express.js running on Oracle Database 19c. The main area of focus for this position is backend and RESTful API development to support several front-end applications as well as customer automation needs. The ability to learn quickly, a passion for picking up new ideas and technologies as well as the communication skills to share these concepts with other team members is essential. Core Duties and Responsibilities: ● Writing code, providing estimates, technical specifications, source control and unit testing ● Collaborate with the team to deliver quality code; participate in design brainstorming sessions, technical design reviews and functional walkthroughs ● Provide technical support for customer production issues Required Qualifications: ● Experience developing backend applications using JavaScript / TypeScript with a focus on RESTful APIs ● Experience with Oracle SQL and Oracle PL/SQL ● Ability and desire to do great software engineering: You’re doing it now, and your background shows you will pick up quickly what you have not already learned ● Demonstrated ability to work in a professional team: Years of experience as a software engineer would be an easy way to check this box, but not the only way ● Experience with C, PHP, and Linux shell scripting (Bash) is a plus ● Experience with Git or other source control systems; a public GitHub presence is a plus ● B.S. or equivalent degree in Computer Science or Software Engineering is desired ● Candidates must be legally authorized to work in the U.S. without sponsorship Job Type: Full-time Pay: $95,000.00 - $115,000.00 per year Ability to Commute: Oak Brook, IL 60523 (Preferred) Work Location: Hybrid remote in Oak Brook, IL 60523
