Interior Design Assistant

About the roleThe Interior Design Assistant role is primarily an administrative and procurement role. This person will oversee the full lifecycle of our purchasing process—from creating items, drafting proposals and purchase orders to coordinating vendor communication, tracking lead times, and ensuring flawless delivery and installation. You will work closely with our design and operations teams to maintain accuracy in Studio Designer and ensure all project information, financial data, and documentation remain current and impeccably organized.This role is ideal for someone who thrives in a fast-paced, detail-rich environment; who enjoys bringing order, clarity, and consistency to complex projects; and who takes pride in supporting the creation of beautiful, highly customized homes.ResponsibilitiesManage the full procurement lifecycle for custom and trade furnishings, fixtures, and materials.Create, update, and maintain proposals and purchase orders within Studio Designer.Track all order confirmations, lead times, backorders, COM/COL details, finish selections, and shipping logistics.Serve as the central point of contact for vendors, showrooms, and fabricators.Coordinate with receiving warehouses, installers, and the design team to ensure timely deliveries and accurate inventories.Maintain and organize the studio’s library samples weekly, if not daily. Maintain up-to-date project documentation, notes, and communication logs.Support internal workflows by keeping Studio Designer, Slack, and shared digitalfiles organized and aligned.Assist with scheduling, calendar coordination, and general office administration as needed.Track and allocate billable hours within Harvest for each client in 15-minute time increments.Provide clear, timely updates to designers, vendors, and clients regarding order status and project details.Maintain a high standard of professionalism in all written and verbal communication.Embody characteristics that align with Tye Interior Design's Core Values: Joy: We are a fun to be around.Exceptional Performance: We are the best at what we do. Required QualificationsExceptional attention to detail and accuracy, especially when tracking multiple customized items with many components.Strong organizational and project management skills, with the ability to manage overlapping deadlines.Excellent written and verbal communication skills.Proficiency in Microsoft Office and Dropbox.Ability to anticipate next steps and proactively solve problems.Familiarity with Slack, Dropbox, or similar workflow tools.Preferred QualificationsExperience with Studio Designer or similar interior design project management software (e.g., Design Manager).2-4+ years of experience in procurement, project coordination, or administrative roles—preferably within an interior design, architecture, or luxury goods environment.Experience working in a boutique or luxury interior design studio.Comfort coordinating with high-end clients, vendors, and builders.
