Test Fire Operator

Job Title: Test Fire Operator Shadow Systems is seeking a Test Fire Operator to join our team. This is a hands-on role that requires a detail-oriented, reliable individual with a strong work ethic and commitment to firearm safety. You will be responsible for test firing and inspecting Shadow Systems firearms, ensuring each product meets our rigorous quality standards. They are comfortable working in a fast paced, controlled test fire environment, strictly following all safety protocols. They must also understand the importance of consistency, documentation, and quality standards. This person demonstrates strong mechanical aptitude, can identify irregularities during test firing, and communicates issues clearly to management. They are dependable, punctual, and able to work independently while also contributing positively to a team environment. Essential duties and Responsibilities: (Other duties may be assigned) Test-fire production firearms in accordance with company procedures, productivity goals, and internal quality standards Perform live fire accuracy and reliability testing, and identify firearm models based on distinct features, markings, and model numbers. Maintain extensive knowledge of safe firearm handling, and strictly follow all safety protocols, emergency procedures, and legal/company ordinances related to firearms and testing operations. Keep the test range and assembly areas clean, organized, and compliant with 5S workplace organization standards, ensuring all equipment and workstations are maintained in a safe, functional, and orderly condition. Clean test-fired firearms thoroughly. Report defective parts, nonconforming products, or questionable conditions to management. Maintain up-to-date knowledge of quality control procedures and ensure proper disposition of nonconforming items. Support production assembly lines as needed to help achieve daily, weekly, and monthly output goals. Communicate relevant updates, findings, and concerns to management in a timely and professional manner. Create detailed reports of test fire results. Demonstrate punctuality, reliability, and a readiness to contribute effectively to team and company goals. Be available to work overtime or additional shifts based on evolving business needs. Required Skills and Qualifications: High School Diploma or GED Familiarity with firearms; experience as a firearm owner or user 1-2 years of experience in firearm maintenance, gunsmithing or repair (preferred) Strong attention to detail and organizational skills Ability to work independently and follow instructions accurately Willingness to work in a physically demanding environment Physical Requirements: Ability to stand, walk, stoop, and bend throughout the shift Regularly perform repetitive tasks Work is primarily standing Must be able to lift and move boxes averaging 40 lbs (up to 50 lbs. max).
