Job Title: Health & Safety Specialist III / Telecom Safety SpecialistPosition Type: Contract (7 months, with possible extension)Schedule: Part-time (5–8 hour days, approximately 25 hours per week)Location: West Monroe, LA (71294)Pay Rate: $40/hr – $46.50/hr (W2)Position SummaryThe Telecom Safety Specialist provides field oversight of contractors performing telecom tower construction, foundation work, antenna/line installation, underground fiber optic boring, and related civil activities.This role ensures compliance with safety standards, construction best practices, and applicable industry regulations.Key ResponsibilitiesContractor Qualification & Work Authorization Verify contractor training, certifications, and adherence to safety requirementsEnsure understanding of site-specific hazards, underground utilities, and clearance requirements prior to mobilizationReview construction and fiber boring plans to ensure protection of existing infrastructureField Oversight of Construction Activities Monitor tower erection, climbing activities, rigging/lifting operations, foundation work, and antenna/line installationEnsure proper use of fall protection, establishment of exclusion zones, and equipment inspectionsIntervene and stop work when unsafe conditions are identifiedFiber Optic & Underground Work Oversight Oversee underground boring and excavation activities, ensuring proper utility locates and depth complianceMonitor bore paths to prevent damage to existing infrastructureEnsure proper potholing, marking, and documentation of completed workHazard Identification & Safety Reviews Review Job Hazard Analyses (JHAs) for construction, excavation, and directional boring activitiesValidate implementation of hazard controls for high-risk tasksPromote a strong safety culture through coaching and field engagementQualifications Experience in telecom construction, tower erection, or fiber optic installationStrong knowledge of industry safety standards and regulations (e.g., OSHA, NESC)Ability to work in the field and effectively guide contractors on safety complianceStrong communication and problem-solving skillsAbout Us:Founded in 2009, IntelliPro stands as a global leader in talent acquisition and HR solutions.
