Field Cost Manager Heavy Civil Construction CompanyPosition Summary The Entry Level Field Cost Manager supports the project management and accounting teams by assisting with project cost tracking, production reporting, and field documentation for heavy civil construction projects. This role is ideal for someone looking to build a career in construction management, project controls, or construction accounting.The successful candidate will work closely with project managers, superintendents, field personnel, and accounting staff to help ensure accurate job costing, reporting, and project financial tracking.Key Responsibilities Project Cost & Production Tracking Assist with tracking daily project costs including labor, equipment, materials, trucking, and subcontractorsReview field reports, timecards, and production quantities for accuracyHelp maintain accurate job cost coding and project documentationSupport preparation of weekly and monthly project cost reportsAssist project teams with budget tracking and production analysisField & Operations Support Communicate with superintendents and field crews regarding daily production and reportingVisit project sites as needed to gather project information and support operationsHelp track quantities completed versus project budgetsAssist with project start-up and close-out documentationAdministrative & Accounting Support Assist with purchase orders, invoices, subcontractor billings, and equipment trackingCoordinate with payroll and accounting departments to ensure proper cost allocationMaintain organized project files and documentationSupport month-end reporting and data entryQualifications Associate's or Bachelor's degree in Construction Management, Accounting, Business, Engineering, or related field preferredConstruction internship or field experience is a plus but not requiredStrong organizational and communication skillsProficient with Microsoft Excel and Microsoft OfficeStrong attention to detail and willingness to learnAbility to manage multiple tasks and deadlinesPreferred Traits Self-motivated and dependableInterested in heavy civil construction operationsComfortable working with numbers, reports, and field personnelStrong problem-solving and teamwork skillsCompensation & Benefits Competitive entry-level salaryHealth insurance401(k) / retirement planPaid time off and holidaysTraining and career development opportunitiesOpportunity for advancement within the companyEmployee Stock Ownership PlanPowered by JazzHR
