Engineering Technician
PURPOSE OF POSITION:
The Engineering Technician II provides technical, laboratory, engineering documentation, and ERP data-entry support for new product development and sustaining engineering activities. This position supports Project Engineers, Design Support Engineers, and Product Engineers by maintaining accurate engineering, product, and component data in ERP and engineering databases, supporting CO/CR document execution, and assisting with prototype builds, testing, and product configuration activities from concept through production.

Provide technical support for new product development and sustaining engineering activities under the direction of Project Engineers, Design Support Engineers, and Product Engineers.
Maintainengineering documentation including Bills of Material (BOMs), schematic drawings, mechanical documentation, engineering databases, and ERP records to ensureaccurateproduct configuration and revision control.
Perform engineering data entry andmaintaincomponentinformation within ERP, Microsoft Accessengineeringdatabases, and other engineering information systems.
Prepare, coordinate, and execute Change Requests (CRs), Change Orders (COs), Engineering Change Orders (ECOs), and associated engineering documentation to support product releases and design revisions.
Assistengineers with engineering documentation, PCB release activities, and manufacturing documentation required to support new product development.
Assemble,modify, troubleshoot, and evaluate prototype assemblies, breadboards, fixtures, and engineering test equipment. Evaluation includes prototype testing, calibration, environmental testing, data collection, and documentation of test results for engineering evaluation.
Coordinate prototype, pilot, and production builds by working with Manufacturing,Purchasing, Quality, and external suppliers to ensure materials and documentation are complete andaccurate.
Verify engineering documentation for accuracy by reviewing part numbers, Bills of Material, specifications, footprints, dimensions, drawings, and engineering records prior to product release.
Maintain engineering configuration control by ensuring engineering documentation, ERP records, and released product dataremainaccurate, complete, and synchronized throughout the product lifecycle.
Provide first-level technical support to Manufacturing, Quality, Purchasing, Sales, and Sustaining Engineering for engineering documentation, product configuration, and technical inquiries under the direction of engineering staff.
Maintain engineering laboratories, tools, test fixtures, instrumentation, and work areas to support product development activities.
Identify opportunities to improve engineering processes, documentation, testing, and data management. Develop orassistwith scripts, software tools, database improvements, or automation solutions using programming or scripting languages whenappropriate toimprove departmental efficiency.
Perform other duties as assigned by the Engineering Manager or ProjectEngineer
KNOWLEDGE AND SKILLS REQUIRED:
Bachelor's degree preferred or actively pursuing Associate degree in Electrical Engineering Technology, Electronics Technology, Mechanical Engineering Technology, or related technical discipline
3–5 years of engineering support or electronics manufacturing experience
Working knowledge of electronic and mechanical principles
Experience supporting engineering documentation, BOMs, engineering drawings, product configuration management, and ERP-based engineering data management, including part creation, BOM maintenance, engineering change implementation, and product record management
Familiarity with CRs, COs, ECOs, and document control
Experiencemaintainingengineering databases and product configuration information
Experience with electronic laboratory equipment
Ability to assemble, troubleshoot, test, and evaluate prototype electronic assemblies
High attention to detail
Strong troubleshooting, organizational, and analytical skills
Microsoft Officeproficiency
Strong written and verbal communication
Ability to work independently and collaboratively
