The Software Engineer will take ownership of internally built applications, ensuring stability and growth while supporting efforts to modernize architectures for scalability. This role requires strong technical expertise, problem-solving skills, and collaboration across IT, security, and business teams.ResponsibilitiesDevelop, maintain, and enhance our internal custom applications.Implement new features and optimize existing functionality to meet evolving business needs.Support software development modernization initiatives.Collaborate with stakeholders to understand requirements and translate them into technical solutions.Ensure application security, performance, and reliability through best practices and proactive monitoring.Create and maintain technical documentation, including architecture diagrams and deployment guides.Participate in code reviews, testing, and quality assurance to uphold high engineering standards.Support deployment processes and CI/CD pipelines for efficient and reliable releases.Mentor team members and contribute to establishing engineering best practices.Job RequirementsStrong proficiency in at least one modern programming language (e.g., Python, .NET)Ability to design and implement RESTful APIs and service integrations.Working knowledge of cloud concepts and deploying applications in AWS or a similar environment.Ability to apply secure coding practices and understanding of core application security principles.Strong communication skills for explaining technical concepts to non-technical stakeholders.Preferred SkillsExperience with Modern authentication protocols, such as OAuth, OIDC, and JWTExperience with microservices architecture and event-driven systems.Exposure to data integration or analytics platforms.Compensation & BenefitsBase, bonus and compensation commensurate with experienceVacation & Holidays: Generous paid time off plus 14.5 paid holidaysBenefits: Health & dental insurance, long-term disability and life insurance, 401(k) matchAwesome culture and opportunities for interaction across multiple departments with fun and exciting events and challengesSavion offers a culture that embraces a flex-time schedule so as to maximize both productivity and work-life balanceHybrid: Kansas City, Missouri Headquarters with some flexibility for hybrid work Contact InformationPlease send a resume and cover letter to: jobs@savionenergy.comSavion is an Equal Opportunity Employer and values diversity.
