Implement evidence-based, targeted intervention strategies to improve students' mathematical understanding, computational fluency, problem-solving skills, and mathematical reasoning. Collaborate with campus staff, parents, and district specialists to ensure instructional plans are tailored to meet individual student needs and aligned with district curriculum and state standards.QualificationsEducation/Certification:Bachelor's degree from an accredited college or universityValid Texas teaching certificate with appropriate grade-level certificationMath Specialist or Math Intervention certification preferredSpecial Knowledge/Skills:Knowledge of evidence-based math intervention strategies and instructional practicesAbility to analyze assessment data and develop targeted math intervention plansStrong understanding of foundational math skills, number sense, and problem-solving strategiesSkill in progress monitoring and documentation of student growthStrong communication, collaboration, and organizational skillsAbility to work effectively with students, parents, teachers, and administratorsExperience:* Minimum of two years of successful classroom teaching experienceMajor Responsibilities and DutiesInstructional SupportProvide small-group and individual mathematics intervention using research-based instructional strategiesReinforce foundational math skills including number sense, computation, fluency, problem-solving, and mathematical reasoningDifferentiate instruction to meet the needs of diverse learnersUtilize manipulatives, visual models, and technology to support conceptual understandingMaintain a positive and supportive learning environmentAssessment and Progress MonitoringAdminister and interpret formal and informal math assessments to identify student needsDevelop individualized intervention plans based on assessment dataMonitor student progress regularly and adjust instruction as neededMaintain accurate documentation of student growth and intervention effectivenessPrepare progress reports and share results with parents and campus staffCollaboration & CommunicationCollaborate with general education teachers, special education staff, instructional coaches, and administrators to coordinate math intervention servicesCommunicate regularly with parents regarding student progress and strategies for supporting math development at homeParticipate in ARD/504/RTI meetings as needed to support student successEngage in ongoing professional development to remain current with math intervention research and best practicesWorking ConditionsMental Demands/Physical Demands/Environmental Factors:Maintain emotional control under stressFrequent standing, walking, and bendingOccasional lifting of instructional materials and equipmentSalary is commensurate with experienceMinimum Salary $66,000 for fully certified teachersThis position requires on-site, in-person work and does not offer remote work options.Sheldon ISD will accept applications for this position through August 5, 2025.
