As a startup club with a big vision, we’re building from the ground up—and looking for entrepreneurial team members who want to be part of something extraordinary.The RoleThe Capital Projects Accountant will support the financial execution and integrity of Boston Legacy FC’s major facility build-outs and operations. This is a hands-on, detail-driven role responsible for construction accounts payable, capital project accounting, and financial controls across complex, multi-vendor developments.You will work closely with the Controller, external vendors, construction partners, and internal stakeholders to ensure accuracy, discipline, and transparency across large-scale capital projects.This role is ideal for an accountant who thrives in structured complexity, understands construction financial workflows, and wants exposure to meaningful, high-impact projects early in their career.Key ResponsibilitiesCapital Project AccountingTrack capital expenditures across multiple large-scale projects, ensuring proper capitalization and cost classificationMaintain detailed project cost reports, budget-to-actual analyses, and variance trackingSupport month-end close related to construction and fixed assets, including accruals and reconciliationsConstruction Accounts PayableProcess high-volume, high-value construction AP, including invoices, lien waivers, pay applications, and vendor compliance documentationReview and validate invoices against contracts, purchase orders, budgets, and approved change ordersManage payment schedules and ensure timely, accurate disbursements aligned with project milestonesOther Finance & Accounting SupportMonthly reconciliations as needed by the Finance team, including Construction in Progress, Cash, Accounts Payable and Accounts Receivable.Assistance with the monthly close as needed including research and journal entries.Maintaining systems, and creating efficiencies within the monthly close processControls, Compliance & DocumentationEnsure adherence to internal controls, approval workflows, and documentation standardsMaintain organized audit-ready records for construction and capital expendituresPartner with external accountants, auditors, and advisors as neededCross-Functional CollaborationCoordinate closely with Finance, Operations, Legal, and external construction partnersSupport financial reporting and ad-hoc analysis for senior leadership and ownershipContribute to the continuous improvement of construction accounting processes and systemsWhat We’re Looking ForBachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, or related field2+ years of accounting experience, with exposure to construction accounting, capital projects, or large-scale AP strongly preferredWorking knowledge of construction AP, project cost tracking, and capital expenditure accountingExperience using Yardi, Intacct, and RampStrong attention to detail with the ability to manage multiple deadlines and complex documentationProficiency in accounting systems and Excel; experience with construction accounting software a plusClear communicator who is comfortable working across internal teams and external partnersHigh integrity and strong ownership mindset—this work mattersComfortable operating in fast-moving, high-accountability environmentsOrganized, process-driven, and unflappable under complexityCurious and eager to learn from senior finance leadership and major infrastructure projectsWhy Join Us?
