SummaryA leading firm is seeking a paralegal with 3–5 years of experience in trusts and estates and tax to support its Private Client practice in Chicago. The team is dedicated to delivering exceptional client service and values professionals who share a client-first approach.Key Responsibilities:Assist attorneys in all aspects of estate planning and probate matters.Support with the collection, distribution, reporting, and transfer of estate assets.Prepare inventories and asset schedules using client-provided information.Prepare financial and annual accounts for estates and trusts.Conduct public records research and prepare legal documents.Draft and electronically file probate pleadings and accountings using strong written communication skills to ensure accuracy and compliance.Prioritize workload, monitor and communicate deadlines to the group.Provide regular updates to attorneys and team members regarding matter statuses.Utilize specialized estate planning/reporting software efficiently.Timely and accurate entry, review, and correction of billable time entries.Requirements:3–5 years' paralegal experience in a relevant legal practice area.Paralegal degree or certificate preferred.Familiarity with accounting practices and estate/probate software (Estate Works or similar preferred).Knowledgeable in fiduciary income tax, estate and gift taxation, and estate tax returns.Excellent command of written English, grammar, and syntax.Strong proficiency in Microsoft Office programs.Excellent communication skills, demonstrated writing ability.Ability to handle competing priorities in a fast-paced environment.Commitment to maintaining client confidentiality.Strong attention to detail; ability to manage multiple projects and estates simultaneously.Exceptional interpersonal and teamwork skills.Compensation: $80,000/yr. – $105,000/yr.Benefits: health, dental and vision insurance, life and disability coverage, a 401(k) plan with company match, generous paid parental leave, backup childcare and eldercare support, paid time off (PTO), and potential performance-based bonuses.
