Job Title: Registered Nurse (RN) Specialty: Med Surg/Telemetry Location: Lawton, OK, 73505 Shift Type: 12-Hour Nights Shift Time : 7:00 PM - 7:00 AM Duration: 13 Weeks Position Overview: As a Registered Nurse (RN) specializing in Med Surg/Telemetry, you will be responsible for providing comprehensive nursing care to patients in a fast-paced hospital environment. Your expertise in medical-surgical and telemetry nursing will be essential for monitoring and managing patients with a variety of medical conditions. Responsibilities: Conduct thorough assessments of patients’ physical and emotional health, documenting findings accurately. Develop and implement individualized nursing care plans in collaboration with the healthcare team, focusing on achieving optimal patient outcomes. Continuously monitor patients’ vital signs and telemetry readings, recognizing and responding to changes in condition promptly. Safely administer medications and IV therapies, observing for and documenting any side effects or complications. Provide education to patients and their families regarding diagnoses, treatment plans, and post-discharge care instructions. Work collaboratively with physicians, nursing staff, and interdisciplinary teams to coordinate patient care and ensure continuity of services. Respond quickly and effectively to emergency situations, employing critical thinking and clinical judgment to stabilize patients. Maintain accurate and up-to-date patient records, including assessments, interventions, and progress notes in compliance with hospital policies and regulations. Offer emotional support to patients and their families, addressing concerns and providing reassurance during hospital stays. Qualifications: Education: Graduate of an accredited nursing program (BSN preferred). Licensure/Certifications: Active RN license in Oklahoma. BLS (Basic Life Support) certification from the American Heart Association (AHA). ACLS (Advanced Cardiovascular Life Support) certification preferred. Experience: Minimum of 2 years of experience in Med Surg or Telemetry nursing preferred. Skills: Strong clinical assessment skills, excellent communication, and the ability to work effectively under pressure. Critical thinking and problem-solving abilities are essential. Physical Requirements: Ability to lift and transfer patients, stand for extended periods, and perform physically demanding tasks related to patient care.
