Tax Attorney
Key Responsibilities: Seeking an experienced Tax Attorney to handle complex federal and state tax controversy matters.This role focuses on audits, administrative appeals, and related tax disputes. The attorney will manage cases from strategy through resolution, including litigation when needed.Handle federal and state tax controversy matters, including audits and appealsDevelop case strategy and analyze legal and factual issuesDraft legal documents such as position letters, legal memos, appeals submissions, petitions, motions, and briefsRepresent clients in conferences, hearings, and related proceedingsManage deadlines and multiple active cases efficientlyAdvise clients on risks, options, and resolution strategiesWork closely with accountants and other professionals to review financial records and supporting documentsStay updated on tax laws and procedural developmentsQualifications:J.D. from an accredited law schoolActive U.S. bar license in good standingStrong legal research and writing skillsKnowledge of federal tax procedures and the audit and appeals processStrong communication and advocacy skillsAbility to manage multiple matters with attention to detailThe ideal candidate is a strong legal writer and confident advocate who can effectively present arguments before tax authorities and in court.Preferred Experience:Experience in tax controversy, litigation, or administrative lawExperience handling audits, appeals, or tax-related disputesFamiliarity with collections matters such as liens or installment agreementsExperience organizing large volumes of financial or evidentiary recordsBenefits:401(k)Medical insurancePaid time offPerformance-based bonusesProfessional development and CLE supportHybrid work environment
