Systems Administrator

Responsibilities Receives general instructions for new responsibilities from IT Director or IT Manager Responsible for fielding initial end user tickets with reasonable response and completion times Administers a complex site alongside peers and escalation points Initiates some new responsibilities and helps to plan for the future of the site/network Assists IT Director or IT Manager with project conception, planning, and implementation Responsible for the maintenance, configuration, and reliable operation of computer systems, network servers, and virtualization Install and upgrade computer components and software, manage virtual servers, and integrate automation processes Troubleshoot hardware and software errors by running diagnostics, documenting problems and resolutions, prioritizing problems, and assessing impact of issues Provide documentation and technical specifications to IT staff for planning and implementing new or upgrades of IT infrastructure Head desktop and helpdesk support efforts, making sure all desktop applications, workstations, and related equipment problems are resolved in a timely manner with limited disruptions Terms Of Employment Full Time/ 12 month/ 100% on-site/ Salary- $56,000 Qualifications Strong interpersonal and communication skills; ability to train users in applications and operating system fundamentals and to write basic documentation Strong skills with Windows operating system commands/utilities Familiarity with most basic system administration tools and processes for example, ability to boot/shut down a machine, add and remove user accounts, install, and remove software, setup, and breakdown desktop workstations, add a workstation to a network Familiarity with the basic Windows administrative tools and how to locate them (e.g., Computer Management tool, Active Directory tools) Familiarity with Apple iOS products a plus Familiarity with computer networking a plus Ability to work issues to completion and/or recognize when an issue should be escalated for a timely resolution Ability to work in a fast paced, ever changing environment Works well alone or on a team Works well around children and minors Education & Experience Associate or bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, System Administration, or a closely related field, or equivalent experience required One to three years of system administration or help desk experience Experience working in a corporate AD environment Experience working in an active k-12 or private school setting is a plus System administration and IT certifications in Linux, Microsoft, or other network related fields are a plus Working knowledge of virtualization, VMWare, or equivalent Working knowledge of systems and networking software, hardware, and networking protocols Experience with scripting and automation tools is a plus Working knowledge of implementing and effectively developing helpdesk and IT operations best practices, including knowledge of security, storage, data protection, and disaster recovery protocols Additional Needs Applicants should have reliable transportation Applicants should be willing perform labor associated with breaking down and setting up large numbers of workstations and equipment as needed Applicants should be willing to work after hours, and weekends where needed #J-18808-Ljbffr
