Chemistry Faculty

SUMMARY/OBJECTIVE:National Park College is currently seeking an Assistant Professor of Chemistry. The Chemistry Instructor will fill a nine-month, full-time faculty position with a salary of $50,000.00 for day, evening and online classes with an opportunity to teach during summer sessions. A full-time teaching load is fifteen credit hours per fall and spring semesters, while maintaining a minimum of ten office hours weekly for student consultation.Essential Duties and Responsibilities:Teach various undergraduate chemistry coursesInstruct students in classroom and laboratory settings; develop and provide individual instruction as required.Maintain accurate records and reports on student performance.Interpret policies, programs and procedures related to the delivery of services.Seek, select, and use resources that align with student/program needs.Implement a variety of strategies or approaches to meet the needs of students, including consulting with students and school staff, as necessary.Assess and document attainment of program objectives.Serve on committees in a cooperative mannerPerform other duties as assigned.Required skills/abilities:Knowledge of subject matter being taught.Knowledge of educational planning, teaching techniques, and classroom management strategies.Knowledge of learning aids and teaching materials appropriate to the subject matter.Proficiency in developing and delivering assessments to gauge student learning and guide instruction.Ability to evaluate progress and revise lesson plans as needed.Ability to provide advice and guidance relative to the education of the student.Education and Experience:Applicants must hold a master’s degree or higher in Chemistry or a closely related field, or hold a master’s degree in a related discipline with at least 18 graduate hours in Chemistry.At least three (3) years of teaching experience at the post-secondary level; community college experience is preferred.Experience in developing and teaching online courses is preferred.Physical Requirements: Ability to stand throughout the day.Applicants should submit a resume, cover letter, teaching statement and 3 professional references with contact information.This job description is not designed to cover or contain a comprehensive listing of activities, duties or responsibilities that are required of the employee for this job.
