Full Stack Engineer Contract (6 Months +) $45-$55/HR Here at Medix, we are seeking a key contributor for a brand-new engineering team dedicated to building a green-field product for internal users. This business-critical software will revolutionize our underwriting and group enrollment processes, extending our competitive advantage in the health insurance industry.Essential Job FunctionsLead the design and delivery of product features from concept to launch with minimal oversight.Develop and maintain secure, scalable APIs using Node.js, TypeScript, and OpenAPI.Set front-end architecture standards, leveraging Material UI and component libraries to build intuitive, accessible web components.Translate ambiguous product goals into clear technical milestones, estimates, and deliverables.Champion performance and maintainability across the full stack, anticipating potential issues before they arise.Interpret complex data needs and guide technical decisions, effectively communicating trade-offs to both technical and non-technical audiences.QualificationsMinimum Requirements:Bachelor’s degree (or equivalent combination of education and experience).At least 4 years in back-end or full-stack web application development, specifically at the server and API layer.Expert-level knowledge of TypeScript, Node.js, and React.Extensive experience with API development, system integrations, authentication flows, and Next.js.Fluent in SQL with a solid understanding of data contracts and database management.Excellent written and verbal communication skills with a collaborative, growth-oriented mindset.High degree of comfort with AI tools and secure application security practices.Preferred Experience:Familiarity with Material UI, server components, and component libraries.Experience within the Azure ecosystem.Knowledge of the healthcare industry or working within highly regulated systems.Exposure to testing frameworks and CI/CD pipelines.
