Front-End GAIAA Software EngineerAs a software engineer for the GAIAA team, you’ll be a member of a cross-functional team responsible for developing and deploying the GDMS enterprise environment for accessing AI assistants that helps employees find information, analyze content, draft materials, automate tasks, and build AI-enabled workflows.Key Responsibilities:Bug Fixes: Address bug fixes within a large codebase and identify implications and/or prominent areas of issues resulting from code changes.Feature Engineering: Quickly integrate new features and requirements into a large scale application while following existing design style and feedback from fellow engineers.Design Patterns and Good Code Practices: Develop robust and clear UI design patterns while identifying and optimizing areas of the app that require performance enhancements.Problem Solving: Have a well-rounded understanding of foundational software engineering principles without reliance from Large Language Models or AI Assistance.Collaboration: Work with UX designers to quickly and effectively turn UI mock-ups into functional UI components with little to no intervention from senior engineers.Required Skillset:Strong understanding of software development process, as well as software engineering concepts, principles, and theoriesProven experience leading the design, build, and deployment of complex and performant front-end software solutions in productionStrong understanding of REST-based infrastructure and how to interface with REST-based backendsExperience in React, Angular, Vue, or similar frameworksMastery with TypeScript, JavaScriptExcellent written and verbal communication skillsPreferred Skillset:Expertise in React-Framework and TypeScriptMastery with concepts relating to react-context, debugging large controlled components, hooks, and streamingExperience with Linux, Azure, DockerWhat sets you apart:Creative thinker capable of applying new information quickly to solve challenging problemsComfortable providing technical leadershipTeam player who thrives in collaborative environments and revels in team successCommitment to ongoing professional development for yourself and othersIdentifies opportunities to apply AI for continuous improvement and innovationOur Commitment to You:An exciting career path with opportunities for continuous learning and development.Research oriented work, alongside award winning teams developing practical solutions for our nation’s securityFlexible schedules with every other Friday off work, if desired (9/80 schedule)Competitive benefits, including 401k matching, flex time off, paid parental leave, healthcare benefits, health & wellness programs, employee resource and social groups, and moreSee more at gdmissionsystems.com/careers/why-work-for-us/benefitsWorkplace Options: This position is eligible for Hybrid or 100% Onsite.
