CNC OPERATORS

PURPOSEPerform all tasks necessary to complete daily schedules with full accountability in the most efficient and effective manner within the department. Work consists of operating machinery, routine tasks, processes and performing operations prescribed by drawings, work orders and procedures.ResponsibilitiesRun CNC machine, including upkeep and organization of all tooling and machinerySpecifying required tooling to Merritt purchasing associateCoordinating tooling to be sharpened as requiredLubing and greasing machine and aggregates as requiredGeneral machine maintenance; pumps and tablesReview and edit programs to ensure quality expectations of machining parts correctlyProvide solutions in troubleshooting and streamlining CNC operation for speed and qualityBe creative with tooling and fixtures to machine unorthodox partsUnderstand the overall picture of what is being made, and the time in which it will takeRead and thoroughly understand all engineering drawings and be able to know how the machined part relates to the assembled drawingAs standard protocol develops, learn and use any new software tools to continue efficient and timely completion of assigned tasksManage detailed hard copy files for each work order of each jobQualificationsPossess working knowledge of woodworking and general assembly techniquesSkilled use of sanders, glue machines, banders, and hand toolsCorrectly perform all aspects of routine work, meeting quality standards and requirementsMust be able to achieve results in an accurate and timely mannerCommunicate effectively with co-workers, managers and othersBe able to share knowledge and ideas with others on the teamPerform activities that directly support team outcomesFlexible in cross-trainingPerform duties based on instructions and past practicesRespond to direction in order to provide assistance to othersMay require some follow-up in new areasMust be able to take responsibility for own contributions to team/unit goalsMaintain a safe, ergonomic work environment
