Grinder 1st ShiftThis role operates and maintains grinding and polishing equipment to produce high-quality metal components to precise specifications. You will inspect machinery and workpieces, perform basic maintenance and repairs, and ensure that all products meet quality standards in a modern, climate-controlled facility.ResponsibilitiesInspect machinery and workpieces regularly to ensure they meet specifications and prevent malfunctions and production loss.Dress grinding wheels according to specifications to keep machines operating at peak performance.Stop machines immediately when issues arise and make necessary adjustments quickly to minimize downtime.Perform quality control by inspecting workpieces as they exit equipment and removing any defective pieces.Operate grinding and polishing machinery to grind metal workpieces to prescribed specifications and ensure high-quality finished products.Finish products by hand using hand tools to file, smooth, and refine surfaces as required.Keep all equipment running reliably by inspecting and performing basic maintenance, including lubrication and cleaning.Schedule repairs when needed and coordinate with maintenance resources to keep equipment in optimal condition.Perform basic repairs within the expected scope of knowledge, including replacing worn or broken parts.Use power tools, hand tools, pneumatic tools, and air tools safely and effectively during grinding, deburring, and assembly tasks.Deburr and finish metal components to meet fabrication and quality requirements.Essential SkillsHands-on experience operating grinding and polishing equipment for metal workpieces.Proficiency using air tools, including grinders and other pneumatic equipment.Ability to use hand and power tools safely and effectively for grinding, deburring, and finishing.Experience with deburring processes to remove sharp edges and improve surface quality.Ability to perform basic equipment maintenance, including lubrication, cleaning, and inspection.Capability to perform basic repairs, including replacing worn or broken parts within the expected scope of the role.Strong attention to detail for inspecting machinery and workpieces to ensure compliance with specifications.Ability to follow technical instructions and specifications for grinding, dressing wheels, and finishing workpieces.Commitment to quality control and removal of defective products from the production flow.Additional Skills & QualificationsExperience working in a fabrication environment.Familiarity with pneumatic tools and air-powered grinding equipment.Comfort working with a variety of power tools, hand tools, and assembly tools.Strong mechanical aptitude and problem-solving skills for troubleshooting equipment issues.Ability to work independently and manage time effectively in a production setting.Why Work Here?You will work in a brand-new, state-of-the-art, climate-controlled facility regarded as one of the nicest in the area. The role operates on a 1st shift schedule, Monday through Thursday, working four 10-hour days with flexible start times at 4:00 a.m., 5:00 a.m., or 6:00 a.m. Overtime on Fridays is minimal and voluntary. You will regularly use power tools, hand tools, pneumatic tools, and air tools, including grinders, for fabrication, deburring, and assembly tasks in a professional manufacturing environment.Job Type & LocationThis is a Permanent position based out of Verona, WI.Pay and BenefitsThe pay range for this position is $41000.00 - $57000.00/yr.
