Director of OperationsABM Industries is seeking a Director of Operations to support our Business & Industry Group. Reporting directly to the Vice President of Operations, the Director will lead day-to-day operational execution across a defined region or portfolio, ensuring alignment with strategic priorities while driving performance, efficiency, and growth.The ideal candidate is a strong operational leader with a facilities management background or deep industry knowledge, and experience managing services across a diverse client base.ResponsibilitiesCharacteristics of the Director of Operations:Performance-driven professional who leverages data and KPIs to drive resultsStrong people leader with the ability to coach and develop frontline and mid-level leadersGrowth-oriented mindset with focus on organic revenue expansion within assigned scopeFinancially savvy with experience managing budgets and supporting P&L performanceExecutes with discipline to support strong cash flow and cost managementEffective collaborator able to navigate a matrixed organization and influence stakeholdersDuties / Responsibilities:Executes the strategic direction set by the Vice President of Operations across assigned operationsPartners with senior and regional leadership to meet company goals and operational targetsSupports cross-functional collaboration to deliver on organizational prioritiesResponsible for operational performance, client satisfaction, and profitability within assigned region or accountsOversees daily operations to ensure quality, consistency, and adherence to company standardsDrives adoption of company service offerings and go-to-market initiativesBuilds and maintains strong client and partner relationshipsLeads and develops Regional Directors, Branch Managers, and/or District ManagersSupports customer retention and growth through service excellence and continuous improvementResolves complex operational issues with guidance from senior leadership as neededIdentifies and implements process improvements, technologies, and efficienciesEnsures compliance with operational policies, procedures, and standardsReviews operational reports, staffing plans, and cost controlsPartners with sales teams to support growth initiatives and client expansionCollaborates with HR and Legal on labor relations and workforce strategiesManages and adheres to assigned budgets and financial targetsProvides performance reporting and insights to the Vice President of OperationsStays current on industry trends and operational best practicesIdentifies training needs and supports development programsPerforms other duties as assignedRequired Skills/Abilities:Strong understanding of financial and operational metricsAbility to manage multiple priorities and meet deadlinesExcellent communication and interpersonal skillsProven leadership and team development capabilitiesKnowledge of industry best practices and service delivery modelsStrong analytical and problem-solving skillsHigh attention to detail and organizational skillsProficiency in Microsoft Office SuiteQualificationsEducation and Experience:Bachelor's Degree or equivalent experience in operations or related field7–10 years plus of relevant experience, including leadership roles3–5 years of operational leadership experienceExperience supporting P&L or budget accountability preferredAbout UsABM (NYSE: ABM) is one of the world's largest providers of integrated facility, engineering, and infrastructure solutions.
