Lead Industrial Maintenance Tech, 1st shift

POSITION SUMMARY-Schedule and direct a crew of Maintenance Technicians involved in one or more functions of Maintenance. Train and provide work direction and guidance while performing work in one or more of the skilled trades of Maintenance. Reasonable accommodations may be made to enable qualified individuals with disabilities to perform the essential functions.WORK ENVIRONMENT- Must be willing and able to work in an environment exposed to elements that can include but are not limited to coolant, dust, mist, elevated noise, and uncontrolled temperatures.ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONSPrioritize, schedule, layout, assign, and coordinate the work of assigned staff to accomplish maintenance tasksProvide training, work direction, and guidance while performing workAssist with scheduling work and determining needs for equipment and suppliesReport to Maintenance Manager any unusual technical or personnel issuesProvide input to performance reviews and monitor work of assigned crew membersPerform a variety of skilled work in different buildings of companyConstruct, rebuild, and repair company equipment and facilities including wood and metal structuresPerform various HVAC and plumbing duties including cut, thread, assemble and lay pipeAssist in the purchase, installation, repair, and maintenance of various plumbing, heating and air conditioning fixturesPerform welding and metal fabricationPerform a wide variety of skilled journey - level work in the maintenance and repair of equipmentDiagnose and repair electronic ignition systems for heaters, furnaces and hot water heatersEnsure compliance with appropriate safety practices and procedures and with applicable federal, state and local codes, regulations and requirementsOperate a variety of equipment and machines including saws, drills, and hand tools to perform repairs and maintenance workOperate company vehicles and perform heavy physical laborMaintain tools and equipment in a safe, clean and proper working conditionAssist in the purchase, installation, maintenance and repair or electrical wiring and fixturesPerform trouble shooting to repair or replace fans, motors etc.Perform repairs to motors lighting circuits, and to communication and audio-visual equipmentEstimate cost of labor and materials for work orders and obtain competitive prices for equipment and suppliesPerform a variety of skilled building maintenance repairs to doors, windows, roofs and other building parts and construct or assemble furniture and other wood and metal structuresPerform skilled maintenance and repair on mechanical and electrical equipment and test and replace circuits, coordinate emergency repairs and large complex projects, troubleshoot and correct defective switches, receptacles, ballasts and other wiring;Perform routine mechanical electrical maintenanceMaintain records in company software related to work orders and materials and laborWith guidance, purchase tools, equipment, and materials and operate light trucks to pick up or deliver equipment and suppliesMaintain safe and clean working environment by complying with 6S procedures, rules, and regulationsPerform other duties as assignedAbility to stop the production line and/or prevent shipment of products due to nonconformance or potential nonconformance products to our customersSupport the environmental policy with proactive process implementation, improvement suggestions, reducing waste, and acting on environment performance results and findingsSKILLS & ABILITIESEstablish, maintain, and foster cooperative working relations with othersAbility to utilize a variety of hand tools and equipmentAbility to operate forklifts, scissor lifts, JLG liftsTechnical aspects of field of specialtyKnowledgeable of proper methods of storing equipment, materials and suppliesBasic record keeping techniquesKnowledgeable of proper trade tools, equipment, materials, methods and techniques used in skilled and general maintenance and repair involving electrical, heating, and air conditioning plumbing, carpentry, painting, welding or automotive mechanicEffectively and safely operate a variety of assigned tools and equipmentInterpret shop drawings, sketches and work ordersAbility to communicate and follow oral and written directionsEstimating abilityMake arithmetic calculations quickly and accuratelyAbility to work independently with little directionAbility to prioritize and meet deadlinesEstablish and maintain cooperative and effective working relationships with othersObserve legal and defensive driving practicesPOSITION QUALIFICATIONSEducation: Associates Degree preferred; Completion of a craft apprenticeship preferredExperience: Fiveyears' experience in one or more of the maintenance trades; Robotics experience- PLC how to write and troubleshoot preferred; Experience in a manufacturing setting preferredComputer Skills: Must demonstrate computer literacyCertificates & Licenses: Electrical Apprentice or licensed by state preferred;
