Project Scheduler
The Project Scheduler is responsible for developing, maintaining, and analyzing comprehensive, logic-driven project schedules using Oracle Primavera P6. This role serves as a critical partner to project management and field teams, ensuring schedules are accurate, actionable, and reflective of real-world construction sequencing.The Scheduler plays a key role in identifying risks, supporting mitigation strategies, and providing clear, data-driven insights to guide project execution and decision-making.We’re looking for you to do the following: Schedule Development & ManagementDevelop complete, logic-driven project schedules that accurately reflect the planned sequence of work.Regularly review and validate logic ties, durations, constraints, and calendars to maintain schedule integrity.Ensure schedules remain a reliable management tool through consistent quality control and updates.Work with project teams to update, re-sequence, and optimize activities in support of mitigation plans, safety considerations, and field realities.Analysis & Risk IdentificationProactively identify bottlenecks, slippage trends, and potential risks, and communicate them to project teams.Properly identify critical and near-critical path activities and evaluate their impact on project outcomes.Apply analytical thinking to assess delays and recommend practical recovery strategies.Identify recurring inefficiencies in scheduling processes, reporting, and coordination workflows.Stakeholder Collaboration & CommunicationBalance input from multiple stakeholders while maintaining logic integrity and schedule accuracy.Engage effectively with project management, field teams, and trade partners to validate sequencing and durations.Communicate schedule status, impacts, and analysis findings clearly to support informed decision-making.Tailor communication style and reporting outputs to align with field operations and stakeholder needs.Reporting & DocumentationPrepare clear, concise schedule documentation, including:Milestone chartsPhase mapsSummary logic diagramsLook-ahead schedules (e.g., 3–6 week, 6–8 week)Customize reporting structures, layouts, filters, and dashboards to meet client and internal requirements.Develop visual materials that clearly communicate sequencing and critical path to diverse audiences.Continuous Improvement & TrainingTrain project team members on scheduling best practices and digital workflows.Actively contribute to peer learning by sharing lessons learned and process improvements.Participate in emerging software trials, innovations, and training initiatives.Keep current with company standards, client requirements, and industry best practices.You Have: Bachelor’s degree in Construction Management, Engineering, or related field (or equivalent experience).3–8+ years of construction scheduling experience.Experience on infrastructure, transit, heavy civil, or commercial construction projects.Familiarity with multiple project delivery methods (Design-Bid-Build, Design-Build, CMAR, etc.).Strong proficiency in Oracle Primavera P6 including schedule creation, updating, and reporting customization.Solid understanding of construction means and methods, trade sequencing, and project delivery approaches.Ability to identify and analyze:Critical and near-critical pathsFloat erosion and slippage trendsSchedule risk exposureExperience producing customized reports using layouts, filters, and software configurations.Familiarity with local regulations, industry standards, and client scheduling requirements.Strong problem-solving skills with the ability to make informed, data-driven decisions.Ability to apply judgment to ensure schedules are complete, logical, and aligned with execution plans.We Have: A team-based culture that rewards collaboration, problem solving and process improvementA commitment to your professional developmentVaried career path opportunities across the different disciplines in the company A new, robust enterprise resource planning software solution Great benefits, including medical, dental, vision, 401K with company contribution, profit sharing, long-term disabilityTeam outings, and an opportunity to get involved and make a difference with various charities in the community
