Our alumni have started venture-backed companies, performed cutting-edge research, presented at the world’s largest conferences, and are creating solutions to tackle important problems like maternal mortality, cancer, and energy access.Role OverviewTKS is looking for a Director in New York City to deliver on the future of education and train young people to solve global problems. Program Directors are responsible for delivering the 10-month TKS program to 80-120 students. Our directors have a passion for unlocking potential, want to help make a difference in the world, and have unique backgrounds/experiences.Responsibilities:Program Leadership: Lead the New York in-person program, delivering high-energy weekly sessions that create a transformational student experience and drive strong program outcomes.Student Mentorship: Mentor students through 1:1 meetings, project feedback, and strategic guidance, helping them develop confidence, think critically, and build ambitious projects in emerging technologies.Community Building: Create a strong, inclusive, and high-performance student culture where students feel challenged, supported, and inspired to collaborate, take risks, and pursue meaningful work.Student Recruitment: Recruit high-potential students across New York by building relationships with schools, community organizations, parents, and local partners. Support the full admissions process, including hosting info sessions, reviewing applications, and interviewing candidates for the New York program.Experiential Learning: Design and execute unique real-world learning opportunities, including company visits, lab tours, conference experiences, guest speaker sessions, and other hands-on opportunities that expose students to frontier ideas and industries.Curriculum Facilitation: Deeply understand and facilitate the TKS curriculum across exponential technologies, global challenges, entrepreneurship, and future-focused thinking. Lead thoughtful discussions that help students explore the technological, philosophical, economic, and societal implications of the future.Program Operations: Manage the day-to-day execution of the New York program, including session logistics, student communications, attendance, parent updates, and operational follow-through to ensure a smooth and high-quality experience.Qualifications:Professional Experience: 6–10 years of professional experience, preferably in technology, entrepreneurship, program leadership, community-building or in education,Leadership & Ownership: Proven ability to lead teams, manage complex initiatives, and take full ownership of outcomes from strategy through execution.Program Design & Facilitation: Experience designing, leading, or scaling engaging programs, workshops, communities, or learning experiences, with a track record of creating meaningful impact.Student Mentorship: Strong coaching and mentorship skills, with the ability to guide ambitious young people, give thoughtful feedback, and help students develop confidence, clarity, and high standards.Recruitment & Relationship Building: Ability to build relationships with schools, parents, community partners, and local networks to attract high-potential students and grow the New York program.Communication & Presence: Excellent communication and facilitation skills, with the ability to lead a room, inspire students, connect with parents, and represent TKS externally.Interest in Emerging Technologies: Strong curiosity about frontier technologies, entrepreneurship, global challenges, and the future. Prior technical expertise is not required, but intellectual curiosity and a willingness to learn quickly are essential.Operational Excellence: Highly organized and reliable, with the ability to manage logistics, follow through on details, and maintain a high-quality student and parent experience.
