Engineer Intern

Cosmic Frontier's mission is to dramatically expand access to high performance space telescopes, democratize the scientific process, and build tools for exploring the Universe. Cosmic Frontier team members own the full lifecycle of spaceflight hardware and software, from early architecture through flight. We build and fly real hardware. The systems you build will go to orbit within the next two years. Role Description: We're looking for interns across engineering and science. Any job listed above can be an internship depending on timing and fit.If you want to build real space hardware and learn by doing, we want to talk.What you'll do:Work alongside the team shipping real hardware and softwareTake ownership of a scoped project with clear success criteriaLearn fast, document what you learned, and make the next build betterWhat Success looks like in the first 90 days:Ramp on a subsystem and deliver a useful artifact (design, analysis, test, or code)Present your work and what you would do nextLeave behind documentation or tooling that makes the team fasterRequired qualifications:Current student working towards a degree in Physics, Astronomy, or related field.Ability to work 20 hours per week during the school year and full-time during summersExport control:Due to the nature of the products and information handled in this role, employment is restricted to U.S. Persons as defined by U.S. export control laws.
