Material Handler
Lead Plastic Machine Operator: $17/$18 D.O.E.

Our Technology Company located in Crowley Tx 76036 is a world class organization focusing on highly Precision Plastic Products. The Material Handler is the first person to start the process in making product for our customers. This team member will need to be able to work independent and with others in a team environment. The Material Handler is responsible for the handling of raw materials, and able to conduct preventive maintenance on dryers, loading systems and material grinders.
Workdays:
Monday-Thursday
Hours: Monday-11am-6pm, Tuesday-Thursday: 6am-6pm
Pay: $17/$18 D.O.E.
Working 42hrs a week and 3 days off weekends.
Essential Functions:
1. Raw Material Understanding:
a. Understand the different plastics:
i. Understand plastic types – Plastics used at Dalworth Technologies
ii. Understand the difference between amorphous and crystalline
iii. Melt and dryer temperatures
iv. Material data sheets
v. Material Safety Data Sheets (MSDS)
vi. Understand material contamination and preventive measures
b. Understand the basics of material drying and dryer systems
i. What are the drying temps for Dalworth Tech plastics used on a day-to-day basis
ii. What are typical drying times
iii. Describe over drying conditions, what you expect to see.
iv. Understand the dryer system and how material is dried
v. Demonstrate the ability to clean a dryer thoroughly
vi. Understand the operation of dryer and hopper systems
vii. Understand material contamination and the effects of contaminated material
viii. Understand color concentrate, how it is used, let down ratios, specifications
c. Understand material grinders and use of material regrind
i. Understand material grinders used at Dalworth Technologies
ii. Demonstrate the ability to remove and install grinder blades
iii. Demonstrate to ability to determine when grinder blades need to be sharpened
iv. Demonstrate the ability to change material types in grinders
v. Understand the effects of regrind in the plastic process
vi. Determine what can be placed in material grinders
vii. Understand the quantity and when to use regrind
viii. Understand the throughput of grinders – material per hour
d. Area of Responsibilities
i. Inventory of all plastic raw materials and concentrate
ii. Ensure dryers are filled with the correct material as per the Production Worksheet
iii. Ensure dryers are in place and ready to be used at machine
iv. Calculate the correct dryer size for the product being ran
v. Ensure dryers are full during production, unless situation is specified
vi. Weigh and mix concentrate and regrind (when required) correctly
vii. Organization and cleanliness of work areas including warehouse
viii. Track resin and concentrate usage – including material inventory
ix. Clean dryers, loader hoppers and work area during product change
x. Ensure equipment is in working order and functioning properly
xi. Store regrind and all materials to be ground up (runners and rejects).
2. Work in a production atmosphere
a. Work in a team environment
b. Eager to learn new skills in plastic molding
c. Willing to communicate when problems happen
d. Willing to clean, organize and put equipment and tools away
e. Keep equipment and work areas organized
f. Determine material requirements for upcoming production runs

9. Conduct any other tasks as needed within scope of the support group responsibilities.
