Accounting Technician

Job DescriptionGeneral SummaryThis is an at-will, non-partisan position. The Accounting Technician, under the direct supervision of the LRS Director, operates within predetermined guidelines issued by the LRS Board of Trustees.Performs assignments and serves as the point of contact in the areas of accounting, purchasing, and budget support in accordance with standard accounting practices and the Statewide Integrated Governmental Management Applications (SIGMA). Prepares financial reports for analysis and adjusts accounting records as needed. Answers phone calls and respond to emails to assist with members of the LRS.Accounting Technician Job DescriptionOverview of ResponsibilitiesThe accounting technician is responsible for a wide range of tasks designed to ensure the accuracy and integrity of the LRS’ financial information.Reconciles accounting data, prepares journal vouchers, and reclasses accounting entries in State of Michigan and internal accounting records.
