Optometrist (Bilingual in Cantonese and English)

Overview: We are seeking a dedicated and skilled Optometrist to join our team. The ideal candidate will be responsible for providing comprehensive eye care services. The Optometrist will be responsible for conducting eye exams, diagnosing and treating eye disorders, and prescribing corrective lenses or medications. Duties: - Conduct comprehensive eye exams, including slit lamp and dilated fundus exams and IOP checks to diagnose and treat eye disorders. - Refract and Prescribe glasses. - Administer eye drops and ointments to patients as needed. - Review and interpret diagnostic test results and write a report in the chart. - Assess candidates for cataract or glaucoma surgeries. - Fill out consultation reports to referring physicians. - Keep patient records accurate and up-to-date, ensuring compliance with HIPAA regulations. - Collaborate with other healthcare professionals to provide patient care. - Interact with local pharmacies regarding patient medication coverages. - Maintain a clean and organized work environment, adhering to the standards of optical systems and equipment. - Stay current with the latest developments in optometry and remain committed to ongoing professional development. Experience: - A Doctor of Optometry (OD) degree from an accredited program. - A strong clinical experience in diagnosing and treating eye diseases. - Strong experience with interpretion and report of diagnostic tests. - Strong experience with pre-operative assessment and post-operative care, especially in regards to cataract and glaucoma. - Proficiency in optical systems and equipment. - A commitment to patient care and an understanding of the importance of productivity metrics in the ophthalmic industry. - Familiarity with electronic health records and other healthcare systems. - Knowledge of HIPAA regulations and a commitment to maintaining patient confidentiality. Skills: - Must be fluent in English, Cantonese and Mandarin. - Strong anatomy knowledge and understanding of eye diseases. - Experience with patient care and a commitment to providing exceptional service. - Proficiency in optical systems and equipment. - Excellent communication and interpersonal skills. - Proficiency in pre-operative assessment and post-operative care. - Ability to work effectively with other healthcare professionals. - Familiarity with electronic health records and other healthcare systems. - Knowledge of HIPAA regulations and a commitment to maintaining patient confidentiality. - A commitment to ongoing professional development.
