The school nurse will be responsible for addressing the health needs of students and staff when needed. Duties & Responsibilities:Performs student health procedures and assists students with administration of medicationCommunicates and collaborates with school personnel, nursing administration, students and families in a professional manner and with appropriate frequency about school health issuesDocument, compile, and analyze data for reports on school health servicesEnsure the use of proper forms, permission slips, and schedules for dispensing medicationEvaluates student injury reports and record as needed/requested.Maintains confidentiality of sensitive information and materialMaintains updated health records on studentsEnsures primary workstation and responsibilities are covered at all times during the working dayPlans and implements school health management protocolsScreens and evaluates findings of deficit in vision, hearing, growth, etc.Observes the child for development and health patterns in making nursing assessmentProvides consultation in the formation of health policies, goals and objectives for the school district.Qualifications:Completion of a Licensed Practical Nurse ProgramMust hold valid State of Georgia Practical Nurse licenseMust hold valid certification for Cardio Pulmonary Resuscitation (CPR)Work Calendar:This position works 7 hours a day, 183 days Salary Range:$23,442 - $35,740 Open Until Filled:Review of applications and interviews will begin immediately as applications are received and selection of a candidate may occur at any time.
