Medical Payment Receipts Specialist (Epic Required)
We are seeking a highly experienced Medical Payment Specialist to join a leading healthcare organization. This role is responsible for high-volume payment tasks involving the receipt, distribution, and accounting of funds across various payment methods (cash, checks, credit cards, and EFT).Please Note: This position requires specific Healthcare and Insurance posting experience. Candidates with only a banking/general finance background will not be considered.Location: 100% Remote (Must live local to Vancouver, WA 98683 for onsite equipment pickup) Schedule: Monday – Friday, 8:00 AM – 5:00 PM PST Contract Details: 13-week initial contract with high potential for extension. Contract employees are eligible to apply for permanent internal positions during the assignment.Core Responsibilities:Cash Posting & Reconciliation: Perform daily posting of payments, adjustments, and rejections from private and third-party payors.AR Management: Reconcile accounts receivable and payment postings to ensure financial integrity.Electronic Remittance: Process and monitor electronic remittance files (835s) for accuracy.Credit Resolution: Research and resolve credit balances caused by overpayments at the time of posting.Provider Level Adjustments: Process and reconcile complex provider-level adjustments and manage bank lockbox processes.Mandatory Requirements:Technical Systems: Must be proficient in Epic (Healthcare Software).Industry Experience: Minimum of 2 years in a medical office, billing, or insurance account follow-up role.Specific Expertise: Proven experience in Medical Billing, Medical Payment Posting, and Credits.Insurance Knowledge: Deep understanding of insurance patient postings, payer EOBs, and reimbursement policies for Medicare, Medicaid, Workers' Comp, and Commercial payors.Location: Must reside within commuting distance of Vancouver, WA to pick up company-issued equipment.Required Skills:High proficiency in 10-key and data entry.Advanced knowledge of insurance billing guidelines and regulations.Ability to work independently in a remote setting with minimal oversight while meeting strict daily deadlines.Strong analytical skills to resolve debit/credit balances and missing payments.Excellent attention to detail and ability to manage a high-volume workload.Education:High School Diploma or equivalent required.Physical Requirements:Ability to operate a computer for extended periods (sedentary work).Visual acuity for analyzing extensive data and figures on a computer terminal.
