Machine Operator 2nd ShiftMachine Operator- 2nd ShiftLocation: Elkhart, Indiana Pay Rate: $19.40 Shifts Available: Monday through Friday, 2PM-10PM Employment Type: Full-Time | Try-Before-HirePosition SummaryReputable plastics company has a need to add to the team! The BargerGard Technician is responsible for preparing, setting up, starting, and operating BargerGard manufacturing equipment under the guidance of the Production Shift Leader. This role ensures that parts are produced to quality specifications while meeting manufacturing standards and safety requirements. The BargerGard Technician supports continuous improvement initiatives to enhance quality, productivity, and operational performance.Key ResponsibilitiesMachine OperationSet up, operate, and troubleshoot manufacturing equipment to produce BargerGard parts to specification.Maximize setup efficiency by optimizing setup time, material usage, production rate, and material consumption.Inspect machinery, equipment, and tooling prior to setup to ensure machine readiness.Identify issues impacting product quality or production requirements and communicate with appropriate personnel for resolution.Perform routine maintenance and equipment cleaning.Identify nonconforming materials or products and work with the Production Shift Leader to resolve issues.QualityEnsure produced parts meet established quality standards and specifications.Follow all Good Manufacturing Practices (GMP).Perform housekeeping duties to maintain a clean and organized work area.CommunicationAccurately complete all shift documentation and required paperwork.Conduct effective shift hand-offs by communicating job status, production issues, and updates to incoming shifts.SafetyParticipate in company safety programs and initiatives.Follow all established safety policies and procedures.Wear required Personal Protective Equipment (PPE) at all times.Minimum QualificationsHigh School Diploma or GED requiredMinimum of six (6) months of manufacturing or related experienceGreat mechanical aptitudeAbility to read, write, and speak English to meet training, safety, and quality requirementsPreferred QualificationsExperience operating manufacturing equipmentStrong organization and time management skillsBasic computer and software proficiencyKnowledge of quality control principles and Statistical Process Control (SPC)Equipment & Tools UsedManufacturing equipmentComputers and machine controlsMeasurement equipmentPallet jacksHand toolsPhysical RequirementsLight Work (up to 10 lbs): Continuous product and hand toolsMedium Work (1130 lbs): Regular product and hand toolsHeavy Work (3150 lbs): Occasional (12 times per shift) machine tools and moldsAbility to stand for extended periodsFrequent bending, stooping, climbing, reaching, twistingMental RequirementsReading, writing, and basic calculation skillsInterpersonal skillsReasoning and analysisAbility to work with minimal supervisionABR Employment Services is an Equal Opportunity/Affirmative Action Employer.
