Customer Service Representative

Customer Service Representative - Inside Sales We are seeking a motivated Customer Service Representative with at least three years of customer service or sales-related experience, preferably within industrial, or manufacturing environments. In this role, you will process sales transactions, provide accurate quotes, share product information, and enter customer orders for industrial fabrication, machining, and welding equipment. The ideal candidate is organized, detail-oriented, and self-driven, with the ability to manage multiple responsibilities independently in a fast-paced office setting. Strong communication and problem-solving skills are essential, as this position includes tracking open orders, coordinating lead times, resolving customer issues, and maintaining positive relationships. While the primary focus is on order processing and customer support, candidates who are comfortable identifying opportunities to promote products and assist with sales are highly valued. Professionalism, sound judgment, and the ability to work effectively both independently and as part of a team are critical.Job Summary Inside Sales Representatives process industrial sales transactions, provide quotes, share product information, build rapport with customers, and promote merchandise while working in an office setting with other team members. Individuals in this role listen well, problem-solve, communicate effectively, and ensure customers are satisfied with their purchases. They approach others tactfully, react well under pressure, treat others with respect and consideration regardless of status or position, and follow through on commitments.Essential Functions Facilitate the sales process through project management, tracking open sales orders, issue resolution, and overall customer service and supportProvide product pricing and shipping by consulting the pricing matrix and other complex tables to determine the appropriate priceDevelop cost-effective and time sensitive quotes for customers via phone and emailEnter customer orders and provide order-related documentationEnsure timely shipment of materials and customer satisfaction by estimating lead timesContribute to add-on sales by maintaining a high level of product knowledgeHandle customer inquiries and resolve issuesPerform estimates, discounts, and RFQ's as necessaryRespond to customer complaints and inquiries promptly and professionallyAnswer phone calls and emails in a professional mannerBuild and maintain customer relationshipsUpsell products and make recommendationsPerform other duties as requiredEducation / Experience High school diploma or general education degree (GED); or six months to one year of related experience and/or training; or an equivalent combination of education and experience.Requirements Personal integrity and customer service, sales, and communications skills to provide excellent service while achieving sales metrics3+ years of inside sales experience in the same or similar industry preferredStrong ability to process information and manage multiple tasksExperience with industrial sales strongly preferred but not requiredIntermediate proficiency with MS Office Suite and distribution-specific ERP systemsPhysical Demands The physical demands described here are representative of those that must be met by an employee to successfully perform the essential functions of this job. Noise levels may be extreme, and Personal Protective Equipment (PPE) is provided; usage is driven by customer requirements. Required PPE may include steel-toe boots, hard hats, and safety glasses.
