Medical Transcriptionist

Medical Transcriptionist Labcorp is seeking a Medical Transcriptionist to join our team in Shelton, CT.Schedule: Monday-Friday (1 Saturday a month), 9:00am-5:30pmJob Responsibilities:Transcribe and dictate grossing and microscopic descriptions of surgical pathology cases comprised of moderately difficult medical terminology.Accurate and timely data entry of dictated and/or handwritten pathology cases into the laboratory information systemProvides complete and accurate resolution to all user inquiries or redirects the inquirer to the appropriate resource(s) in a timely mannerIdentifies problems, determines and provides/implements appropriate corrective action/accurate solutionsResearches, troubleshoots, and follows up to ensure all inquiries/problems are resolved in a timely mannerTranscribe medical reports, summaries, office visit notes, and other medical documents from recorded messages from health care providersProvide online copies of transcribed documents to physicians or other providers for review and signature, making corrections or changes as notedWork with transcription and dictation equipment that can include speech recognition equipment, word processing, and computer softwareMaintain strict adherence to patient confidentiality according to provider standards and government regulationsReview transcription documents for quality assurance and precision to spot and correct any errors that could impact patient care and medical liabilityCreate templates and enter data into electronic health record (EHR) systems for updated record keeping and archivesMinimum Qualifications:High School Diploma or equivalent3 years or more of medical transcriptionist experiencePreferred Qualifications:2 years or more transcriptionist experience in PathologyAdditional Job Standards:Prior experience with transcriptionist softwareExcellent data entry and typing skillsStrong communication skills, both written and verbalHigh level of attention to detailProficient in Microsoft OfficeAt Labcorp we have a passion for helping people live happy and healthy lives.
