Metal Scrap Yard Laborer

Job DescriptionMetal Recycling SorterShift: FIRST , Monday - Friday (8am-4:30pm) MANDATORY OVERTIME AS NEEDED on SATURDAYS (7:30am-12pm) Pay Rate: $16.00hrThe Metal Sorter/Handler will support recycling operations by overseeing the process and separating various scrap materials. This position will move material from one location to another and will also be involved in the process of extracting and loading the material to be transported.What You'll Do Deposit recoverable materials safely and efficiently into the appropriate bin May operate machinery and equipment to process and move scrap metal Identify and sort metal by different commodity type Assist other sorters on an as-needed basis with heavy or bulky items Package all commodities as directed by management Perform general clean-up in all operational areas of the work-site maintaining a neat and clean work area Use tools and equipment to clean and cut non-ferrous metals Communicate job tasks and work well in a team environment Performs all duties in conformance to appropriate safety and security standards Other duties may be assignedWork Experience Ability to lift up to 50 lbs Ability to work in a non-climate controlled environment, Indoor and Outdoor work Ability to work outside in all weather conditions Experience with metal sorting is a plus but not required; it includes the ability to distinguish between different metals and/or other materials for grading purposes and recognizing safety hazards Must be able to frequently lift 25 lbs or more to include carrying or pushing objects up to 100ft Must be able to perform the physical task of the job assigned; including climbing, bending, stooping, kneeling, and crouchingAbility to pass a background check, drug screen, and E-Verify*  We don't hire temps, we hire TEAMMATES!
