*Job Title: Lead Software Developer (Developer III)* *Experience: 8 Years * *Location: Allentown, PA preferred * *Duration: 6 Months + * *DESCRIPTION:* The Lead Software Developer interfaces with multi-levels of people to translate the needs and requirements of the organization into software enhancements for existing systems, integration of third-party applications, or the development of custom software solutions. The Lead Software Developer, in conjunction with other IT units and business lines, will develop a development plan for the projects including all necessary development phases, tasks and milestones. The Lead Software Developer will use a spectrum of personal, technical, strategic, and critical thinking skills to update and maintain the system model designs, prototype various modules, build reusable objects and class libraries, program the application, set up the development and user environment, test and correct the system. The Lead Software Developer is responsible for assisting with the development of strategic design details and specifications in collaboration with Enterprise Architecture and conducting an impact analysis in conjunction with other technical platforms and applications, with a broad understanding of impact across the enterprise. *MAJOR JOB FUNCTIONS, DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:* * Responsible for the strategic design, specifications, and development of the various components within a specified application, as well as incremental testing of the integrated components and modules as they are completed. * Implement the day-to-day development tasks to ensure adherence to standards, priorities, and quality. * Perform secure code scanning and address any vulnerabilities seen on modules completed. * Review and jointly develop, in collaboration with Enterprise Architecture and other IT units, the project development and implementation plans, system equipment specifications, and department standards. * Contribute highly technical expertise to the direct and prioritize system support and modification efforts during integration testing, final deployment, and on-going operations. * Provide accurate estimates for the development plans and system equipment standards for the applications developed or enhanced. * Assist in the creation of development methodologies, naming conventions, and data modeling approaches. * Direct and prioritize system support and modification efforts during integration testing, final deployment, and ongoing operations. * Ensure the specified version control system is used to track changes, modifications, and overall state of the application development. * Utilize critical and conceptual thinking skills to envision the total impact of technology decisions related to risk, benefits, consequences, and dependencies. * Implement the daily development tasks in accordance to development methodologies. * Provide estimates for development and implementation plans as well as project plan estimates. * Review applications in all phases of development to ensure adherence to development standards. * Strategic planning and design with drill down to tactical planning deliverables. * Investigate, document and recommend and implement development methodologies. * Review end-user requirements with the BSA to ensure adherence to targeted goals. * Test applications in all phases of development to ensure proper functionality and end-user acceptance. * Demonstrate leadership in the planning, design, development, implementation and support of large complex global projects. * Acknowledges and abides by Information Security Policies. * Participates in PCI Compliance, including providing evidence for quarterly and yearly audit. *JOB REQUIREMENTS/QUALIFICATIONS (Education/Training, Experience and Certifications):* * Bachelor degree (BA/BS) or equivalent in Computer Sciences, Business Administration, or related field; Plus desirable to have Master degree completed or work in progress towards a graduate degree. * 8 years experience in a development environment in various technologies. * Professional Certification in at least one major development tool is required, with 3 or more preferred. * In-depth experience and expert knowledge with data and/or business modeling tools. * In depth experience with design, development, testing and administration of various types of systems, and databases. *KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS & ABILITIES:* * Excellent project management skills, including leadership roles. * Expert knowledge of Software Development Life Cycle experience in Object Oriented utilizing development tools, 3rd generation languages such as Java, .Net and/or 4th generation languages such as SQL, PL/SQL, Perl, PHP etc. and/or Mobile development. * Critical thinking skills with an ability to understand and envision total impact of decisions (risk, benefits, consequences,) for both the short and long-term. * Excellent analytical and problem resolution skills. * Demonstrated ability to learn new technologies. * Excellent oral and written communication skills and the ability to understand end-user needs. * Experience in designing, developing and deploying large-scale applications. * Demonstrated understanding of accountability, effectiveness, and efficiently produced quality work.
