Tax Partner (Generalist) – Hybrid | New JerseyPosition OverviewWe are seeking an experienced Tax Partner (Generalist) to join a dynamic and growing public accounting firm in New Jersey. This leadership role is ideal for a seasoned tax professional who can manage a diverse portfolio of clients while driving business development, mentoring teams, and contributing to firm strategy.The Tax Partner will oversee a broad range of tax services, including compliance, planning, and advisory work across multiple industries, with a strong emphasis on delivering high-quality client service and identifying growth opportunities.Key ResponsibilitiesLead and manage a diverse tax client portfolio across individuals, partnerships, S-corporations, and closely held businessesProvide high-level tax advisory, planning, and compliance servicesReview and sign off on complex tax returns and engagementsDevelop and maintain strong client relationships, serving as a trusted advisorIdentify new business opportunities and lead business development initiativesCollaborate with other partners to drive firm growth and strategic directionMentor, train, and develop tax managers and staff accountantsEnsure compliance with federal, state, and local tax regulationsStay current on tax legislation changes and proactively advise clientsParticipate in firm leadership meetings and strategic planningQualificationsCPA required (active license preferred)Minimum 10–15+ years of progressive tax experience in public accountingPrior experience at Senior Manager or Partner level strongly preferredStrong technical expertise in business and individual taxationProven track record in client management and business developmentStrong leadership, communication, and team-building skillsExperience working with diverse industries and complex tax structuresWhat We OfferHybrid work flexibility (New Jersey office + remote option)Competitive partner compensation structure (base + profit share)Leadership role with direct influence on firm growth strategyStrong pipeline of established and growing clientsCollaborative and high-performing partner groupLong-term equity and succession planning opportunities
