Launch Vehicle Systems Engineer

MANTECH seeks a highly talented Launch Vehicle Systems Engineer with skills, background, and experience related to Launch Vehicle (LV) systems, systems engineering, project management, and software productivity tool use, to help the US Space Force redefine the future of the Space Access Directorate. This position is based out of Los Angeles, CA.This position will support the Space Systems Command Space Access Engineering Division and the launch services they procure.Responsibilities Include But Are Not Limited ToProvide comprehensive LV systems engineering expertise at our Los Angeles Air Force Base (LAAFB) customer site. Areas of expertise may include Systems, Propulsion, Avionics, Structural, Digital, Software, and Manufacturing Engineering, Mission Assurance, or Launch Operations. Develop, technically assess, and update program and project deliverables and documentation, including contract deliverables. General system engineering tasks for major Launch System requirements, interfaces, systems engineering processes Creation of major program documents, develop systems requirements system interface specifications, and establishing program baseline for legacy and future systems architecture systems. Provides configuration control, review, and comment and coordination of changes with stakeholders. Perform Systems Engineering processes and methods as applied to systems at the Space Systems Command (SSC) Launch Vehicle/Space Vehicle programs, Launch Ground Systems design and methods, architecture and configuration, including interfaces between space, launch, ground and range systems Involved with program integration such as organizing integrated product team meetings, systems reviews, and interagency discussions and documentation. Collaborate with The Aerospace Corporation (Aerospace), New Launch Contractors (LCs), launch site personnel, and production and supplier personnel, as needed. Minimum QualificationsBachelor's degree in a STEM discipline or Program Management 9+ years (Engineering and/or Program Management experience with at NSSL, Launch/Range, Space Vehicles, DoD, NASA or industry equivalent engineering/PM experience) Experience with software products, such as Warp Core, Jira, Confluence, MS Office Suite, SharePoint, Google Workspace, and Information Technology systems is preferred. Preferred QualificationsFamiliarity with space, launch, and LV system standards. Background with USSF, NASA, National Reconnaissance Office (NRO), and Launch Contractor’s (LCs) preferred. Ability to understand data deliverables and reports and provide assessments and risk recommendations. Clearance RequirementsMust be able to obtain and maintain a Secret clearance, however it is not required to start. Physical RequirementsMust be able to remain in a stationary position 50%. Needs to occasionally move about inside the office to access file cabinets, office machinery, etc. Constantly operates a computer and other office productivity machinery, such as a calculator, copy machine and computer printer.
