The magazine spotlights business leaders, investors, entrepreneurs, and high-achieving professionals through long-form features, interviews, lifestyle stories, and editorial coverage of finance, real estate, hospitality, and culture. Our editorial DNA is clean, modern, professional, and quietly luxurious — think Monocle, Robb Report, Forbes Life, and Bloomberg Pursuits, reinterpreted for a bilingual transatlantic audience. We are building a tight, senior-level team in New York. We are now searching for the Art Director / Senior Layout Designer who will define the magazine's visual language from issue one.The RoleYou will own the visual identity and page architecture of every issue. Working remotely from your own studio setup, you will receive finalized texts, photography, and brand assets from the editorial team and transform them into a polished, magazine-grade digital publication. This is a hands-on senior role: you are both the strategist (designing the master grid, typography system, and template) and the executor (laying out each page, refining typography, finalizing the export). What You Will DoDesign and own a master template system — cover, contents page, feature openers, interview spreads, departments, infographics, and back-of-book sections.Establish the magazine's typographic hierarchy, grid system, color palette, and image treatment standards.Lay out each issue page-by-page in Adobe InDesign, balancing image and text for visual rhythm and readability.Manage bilingual typesetting (English + Turkish), including correct Turkish diacritics, hyphenation, line-break logic, and tracking adjustments.Prepare press-ready and digital-ready exports: interactive PDF, web-optimized PDF, and assets for issuu / FlipHTML5 / Yumpu or similar digital magazine platforms.Retouch and color-correct photography where needed; commission or source supplementary imagery when briefs require it.Collaborate asynchronously with the editor-in-chief, copy editor, and content team via shared cloud workflows (Dropbox / Google Drive / Adobe Creative Cloud).Deliver each issue on a fixed editorial calendar — typically monthly or bi-monthly.Who You Are15+ years of professional experience as an art director, senior magazine designer, or editorial designer for established print or digital magazines.Your portfolio includes recognizable, magazine-grade work — premium consumer titles, in-flight magazines, business or lifestyle publications, or luxury brand books. You think in spreads, not pages. You understand pace, white space, hierarchy, and the difference between a feature opener and a department page. You have an instinct for clean, modern, luxury aesthetics — restraint over decoration, typography over ornament. You are an Adobe InDesign expert, fluent in master pages, paragraph and character styles, GREP styles, object styles, and data-merge workflows. You can typeset Turkish and English with equal care for typographic detail.Required Skills & ToolsAdobe InDesign expert level (non-negotiable)Adobe Photoshop & Illustrator — advancedStrong command of typography (font pairing, scale, leading, tracking, optical alignment)Color management for digital output (sRGB / CMYK awareness, profile handling)Experience preparing files for digital magazine platforms (issuu, FlipHTML5, Yumpu, Heyzine, or equivalent)Comfortable working with Dropbox / Google Drive / Adobe Creative Cloud for asset and version handoffReliable high-speed internet, modern Mac or PC workstation, calibrated displayNice to HaveExperience with interactive PDF features (links, embedded video, navigation)Familiarity with Affinity Publisher, Adobe Express, or FigmaLight video / motion design skills for promotional cuts (After Effects basics)Previous work for bilingual or international publicationsBackground designing for business, finance, real estate, or luxury lifestyle content categoriesCompensation & TermsEngagement: Part-time, freelance / contract — per-issue fee or monthly retainer, depending on candidate preferenceSchedule: Flexible; you set your own hours within editorial deadlinesRate: Commensurate with experience and portfolioCurrency: USD, paid via international wire or Wise / PayoneerLocation: Fully remote / online — work from anywhere; Turkey-based candidates preferred for time-zone overlap and engagement economicsStart: ImmediateHow to ApplyPlease send the following to info@ceoclubnewyork.comCV / résumé (English preferred, Turkish accepted)Portfolio link — Behance, personal site, or a single curated PDF showing at least 3 full magazine layouts you have led or significantly contributed toA brief note (under 200 words) describing one magazine project you are most proud of and the design decisions behind itYour availability (hours per week / issues per month) and preferred compensation model (per-issue fee vs. monthly retainer)Confirmation of InDesign proficiency and any digital magazine platforms you have shipped toWhy Join UsYou will design the first issue of a publication built for a discerning, bilingual, transatlantic readership — the kind of project that becomes a portfolio cornerstone.
