Senior Mechanical Engineer / Industrial Engineer

Libbey is hiring a dynamic experienced Senior Mechanical Engineer / Industrial Engineer who will be primarily responsible for the mechanical design of machine components and systems. Typical assignments include working with mechanical and mechatronic systems to support glass forming, selecting, handling, and packaging operations in our Toledo manufacturing facility. This individual must be a team player that can collaborate with others while managing multiple projects. They must have strong problem-solving skills and exhibit excellent communication skills.RESPONSIBILITIES: Design of machine components and assemblies.Produce engineering documentation including solid models, details, assembly drawings, and reports.Brainstorming, concepting, engineering analysis & calculations, CAD design, and prototype testing.Specification and integration of commercial parts.Provide troubleshooting support for manufacturing facilities.Support procurement process.Support installation & commissioning of equipment in Toledo manufacturing facility. REQUIREMENTS & QUALIFICATIONS:Bachelor degree in Mechanical Engineering, or equivalent area of study, is required 10+ years of relevant experiencePractical machine design experience, with extensive experience with conveying systems.Strong CAD skills: AutoCAD and SolidWorks experience required.Strong mechanical aptitude, hands on experience appreciated.Preference given to candidates who have demonstrated depth in one or more of the following areas:Pneumatic, hydraulic, glassware or bottle handling system design and troubleshootingAutomatic packing and conveying system component specificationModern manufacturing methods and machining processesAbility to work in a 24/7 manufacturing environment exposed to heat, noise, and heights while utilizing PPE.Strong teamwork and collaboration skills in a manufacturing environment Excellent interpersonal and communication skills (written and verbal)
