We are seeking a motivated, detail-oriented *Network Cabling Technician* to join our growing Infrastructure Team. Position Summary The Network Cabling Technician is responsible for the installation, testing, troubleshooting, certification, and maintenance of structured cabling and low-voltage systems. This role supports projects involving network infrastructure, surveillance systems, access control, telecommunications, and fiber optic networks while ensuring compliance with company standards, applicable building codes, and industry best practices. Key ResponsibilitiesStructured Cabling Installation * Install, terminate, label, and test: * Category 5e and Category 6 network cabling * Fiber optic cabling * Telephone and communication cabling * CCTV and security system cabling * Coaxial cabling (RG6, RG59) * Install support infrastructure including: * J-hooks * Cable trays * Ladder racks * Innerduct * Conduit and related pathway systems Testing & Troubleshooting * Test and certify cabling installations using industry-standard testing equipment. * Diagnose and repair cabling and network-related issues. * Conduct inspections to verify proper installation and system functionality. * Troubleshoot existing structured cabling and low-voltage systems. Network & System Support * Assist with installation and replacement of network hardware and associated equipment. * Support deployment of switches, wireless access points, surveillance cameras, and related infrastructure. * Document work performed and maintain accurate labeling and testing records. Compliance & Safety * Follow National Electrical Code (NEC), TIA/EIA standards, local building codes, and company installation standards. * Properly seal and firestop wall and floor penetrations. * Adhere to information security, safety, and compliance policies. * Participate in ongoing company compliance and security training programs. QualificationsRequired Skills & Experience * Experience with structured cabling and low-voltage installations. * Knowledge of TIA/EIA 568 and 569 standards. * Familiarity with firestopping methods and building code requirements. * Understanding of tools and equipment used in structured cabling installations. * Ability to read and follow project documentation and installation standards. * Strong troubleshooting and problem-solving abilities. * Excellent communication and customer service skills. * Strong organizational and time-management skills. * Ability to work independently with minimal supervision. Physical Requirements * Ability to work on ladders, lifts, and at elevated heights. * Ability to work in ceilings, crawl spaces, telecommunications rooms, and other confined areas. * Ability to lift and carry equipment and materials up to 75lbs. * Ability to distinguish color-coded wiring and cabling. Preferred Qualifications * Experience with fiber optic termination and testing. * Experience installing surveillance, access control, or paging systems. * Fluke certification experience. * Manufacturer certifications or low-voltage industry certifications. * Valid driver's license with a clean driving record.
