Most importantly, Centric prides itself on helping make Kansas City a cooler place to live, work, and play by building our city and its stories...from the ground up.This position supports Northtown Flooring, a subcontracting division of Centric, focused on delivering projects with the same excellence and client-first mindset that defines the Centric brand.Position ObjectiveThe Flooring Installer is responsible for laying down a variety of floor materials based on client specifications, including carpet, carpet tile, ceramic tile, hardwood, LVT, and LVP.Essential Job FunctionsInstall commercial and residential flooring according to the manufacturer's specificationsMeasure, clean, and prepare the floors or walls to be installedPrepare the subfloor for installationEnsure flooring materials are properly securedCut, trim, and install carpet, hardwood, tile, and vinyl flooring products paying particular attention to wall edges, openings, transitions, and thresholdsVerify that installed flooring materials are level and smoothAssist warehouse coordinator when loading and unloading delivery trucks and check materials to verify product accuracyMaintain compliance with OSHA and Centric safety requirementsBasic QualificationsHigh school diploma or GED requiredA valid driver's license is requiredOSHA-10 certification is required within 30 days of employmentTelehandler certification is preferredTwo (2) years of previous work experience in a construction-related fieldKnowledge, Skills, and AbilitiesBasic knowledge of different flooring types and installation methodsAble to understand directions and read blueprintsAbility to properly care for and use tools of the tradeAble to work independently and as part of a teamPhysical ability to lift heavy materials and perform manual laborDemonstrates an ability to prioritize tasksStrong initiative and can accomplish tasks with minimal manager supervisionMaintains composure and professionalism in difficult situations and effectively resolves conflictsPhysical RequirementsThe physical demands described here represent those that must be met by an associate to successfully perform the essential functions of this job.
