ACCOUNTING ANALYST

Carter Machinery Company, the authorized Caterpillar dealer serving Virginia, West Virginia, Maryland, Delaware and Washington D.C. is hiring an Accounting Analyst in Salem, Virginia. The Accounting Analyst is responsible for processing machine billing, calculating commissions, analyzing profit, and performing general accounting duties, including general ledger entries, reconciliations, and accounts payable. The individual in his role will ensure invoices are accurate and timely, resolve discrepancies, support revenue recognition, and help maintain the integrity of company financial reporting by understanding key company cycles. Seeking candidates with previous accounting experience required; Associate or bachelor's degree in accounting, preferred. Requirements for the Accounting Analyst position include: Must have a solid understanding of accounting principles. Must be proficient with Excel. Strong analytical and problem-solving skills. Excellent verbal and written communication skills. Excellent interpersonal and customer service skills. Excellent organizational skills and attention to detail. Excellent time management skills with a proven ability to meet deadlines. Must be able to work in a fast-paced environment with the ability to prioritize tasks and competing demands.
