Food Safety and Sanitation Coordinator

Overview: Join our team as a Food Safety and Sanitation Coordinator, where you will play a critical role in upholding health standards and ensuring a clean and safe environment. Your focus will be on inspecting facilities, training staff, and implementing best practices to avoid contamination while staying updated on current regulations. Pay Rate: $18.00/hr Responsibilities:Conduct daily sanitation audits and perform walk-throughs of facilities to uphold cleanliness and safety standards. Enforce food preparation and handling protocols to comply with health department policies and Food and Beverage Operation guidelines. Continuously monitor the cleanliness and organization of all units to ensure the well-being of associates and guests. Oversee the proper use of Personal Protective Equipment (PPE) to enhance workplace safety and minimize injury risks. Lead and mentor staff through on-the-job training by observing operations and addressing skill gaps to achieve operational excellence. Ensure that all necessary documentation, including temperature logs and cleaning checklists, is accurately maintained. Regularly audit alcohol service areas to verify compliance with identification procedures and wristband protocols for underage prevention. Act as the main contact for the Board of Health and Diversey Audit, facilitating inspections and providing access to safety records. Report maintenance issues and coordinate with the Maintenance Department to ensure timely resolutions. Participate in weekly Maintenance meetings to discuss and update ongoing maintenance requests. Adhere to all organizational policies at all times. Qualifications:Basic knowledge of food safety and sanitation standards; must have or be able to obtain ServSafe Alcohol and ServSafe Manager certifications. Proven ability to conduct professional coaching and counseling sessions that lead to measurable improvements in staff behavior and policy adherence. Flexibility to work varied hours, including weekends, holidays, and peak seasons, typically during midday shifts. Must be professional, outgoing, energetic, self-motivated, and able to inspire others with a positive attitude. Comfortable using tablet computers and other technology. Strong communication skills are essential.
