Overview In this role you will lead technology consulting and enterprise architecture initiatives, shaping solutions for complex, performance-sensitive applications. You will collaborate with diverse stakeholders and guide projects from architecture through implementation, focusing on throughput, scalability, and cost efficiency. The role offers exposure to governance of performance practices and mentoring teams in a management-consulting environment with travel. You will help drive transformations in large Java-based systems and SOA landscapes. ResponsibilitiesPerform deep-dive analysis to identify performance opportunities and implement code/configuration fixesTune and optimize WebSphere applications and complex web systemsLead performance-related processes and guidelines, onboarding teams to those practicesArchitect and drive independent projects from an architectural standpointMentor and lead internal consulting teams, provide thought leadershipCollaborate with business owners and IT stakeholders to deliver performance improvementsEvaluate virtualization and cost-efficient techniques to enhance performanceAcquire and apply knowledge of proprietary Policy Admin System framework for performance resolutions Key requirements7+ years in technology consulting, enterprise/solutions architecture, and architectural frameworks7+ years Core Java and J2EE experience7+ years WebSphere (WAS) configuration and performance tuning7+ years performance tuning of complex web apps and SOA (SOAP services)7+ years RDBMS and SQL tuning, JVM heap/memory and thread analysis, network latency analysisURL profiling using browser debugging tools (F12)7+ years deep-dive code/configuration analysis; ability to propose and code solutions; experience with APM tools (dynaTrace advantageous)Team player with ability to work with diverse stakeholders and operate with limited supervisionAbility to set up performance-related processes/guidelines and onboard teamsExperience in project execution (minimum 5 years) and defining new architecturesThought leadership, mentoring, and internal consulting experienceWillingness to travel for client engagements in a management consulting environmentteam playerquick learneranalytical mindsetCore Java / J2EEWebSphere (WAS)Performance tuning of SOA and SOAP services
