Supported by three top rated hospitals and a comprehensive healthcare network, Sherman is a community where growth is intentional, partnerships are strong, and opportunity is abundant for those ready to lead and make a lasting impact. Position Overview:The President/CEO plays a vital role in advancing the mission of the Sherman Chamber of Commerce by supporting initiatives that promote local economic growth, foster community engagement, and advocate for the interests of businesses within the region. This position will lead overall strategy, operations, and finances, serving as the primary spokesperson fostering economic development, growth, and advocacy for the local business community, working closely with the Board, managing staff, overseeing programs, and building stakeholder partnerships. Key duties include strategic planning, member recruitment/retention, budget management, event coordination, community liaison, and representing the Chamber's interests at all levels.Key Responsibilities:Represent and promote the Chamber in the community, maintaining a professional and neighborly presence. Support planning, execution, and attendance of Chamber events, meetings, and networking opportunities.Assist with member engagement and retention through outreach, communication, and relationship building. Provide input and support for strategic planning, fundraising efforts, and policy advocacy.Collaborate with local government, business leaders, and civic organizations to promote a thriving business environment. Review and provide input on Chamber financials, initiatives, and program development.Participate in regular board or committee meetings.Contribute creative strategies for investor engagement that differentiate our Chamber from others and enhance the value of membership.Qualification:Strong communication, organizational, and leadership skills. Passion for community development and economic growth.Ability to work collaboratively with a diverse group of stakeholders.Prior experience in business, nonprofit, or community leadership preferred. Familiarity with the local business environment and economic landscape is a plus.
