Provide facility, maintenance, and custodian services regularly for Preble County ESC facilitiesPerforms related duties and general maintenance work as required.Reports to: Superintendent, or their DesigneeEmployment Status: Regular / Full-timeFLSA Status: Non-exemptGeneral Description: Under immediate supervision, provide facility, maintenance, and custodian services regularly for Preble County ESC facilitiesCompensation: commensurate with custodial experience, anticipated $15.80-$19.94 / hourLocation: Eaton Ohio - The Preble County ESC Success Academy and the Preble County ESC Administrative OfficeDuty Hours: seven hours/day, with hours negotiated, but second shift work ispreferred. Ideal candidate works from 11:00 am-6:00 pm with one30-minute break, self-assigned breakEssential Functions:Excellent time management skillsAbility to prioritize tasksExcellent customer serviceInteract positively with staff, students, parents, and administratorsAttend work regularly and punctuallyDemonstrate a positive work ethicWork cooperatively with others in small groupsAbility to self-motivate and use deductive reasoningPromote good public relations by personal appearance, attitude, and conversationHave a working knowledge of Material Safety Data Sheets that this position would come into contact with, including the safe operations of, and update when neededHave the ability to become an expert at cleaning of common areas, including the following tasks:More duties will be assigned through the yearSweep the classroom, hallways, floors, stairs, etc. dailyWet mop locations throughout the facilities daily, in rotationClean restrooms to a satisfactory level, including toilets, sinks, mirrors, refillpaper products, etc.Empty trash cans daily and transport trash to the dumpsterClean glass (windows, doors, etc) routinelyHave the ability to become familiar with the classroom and program rooms' cleaning needs and procedures, as directed by the supervisorMonitor facilities' needs and perform basic maintenance, such as changing batteries and time zones in clocks, filters in HVAC units, testing CO and smoke detectors, etcObserve holidays and occurrences in which the American flag is to be taken to half staff, and monitor the appearance of the flag and replace when appropriateOther Duties and Responsibilities:1. Attend meetings and/or coordinate supply pick-up at the request of the supervisor2. Attend training sessions at the request of the supervisor3. Perform other related duties as required or assignedRequired Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities:1. Ability to work effectively with others2. High School Diploma or Equivalent; i.e. general education degree (GED)2. Physically capable of performing custodial duties, including but not limited to sweeping, mopping, lifting trash cans, etc.3. Pass an initial BCI and FBI background check4. Maintain a valid Ohio driver's licenseAdditional Working Conditions:1. Occasional exposure to blood, bodily fluids, and tissue2. Regular requirement to sit, stand, walk, hear, see, read, speak, reach, stretch with hands and arms, crouch, kneel, climb, and stoop3. Requirement to lift, carry, push, and pull various supplies and/or equipment up to a maximum of 50pounds
